R12 -079 3 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF 5 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 6 APPROVING THE PIGGY - BACKING OF A 7 CONTRACT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES a COAST GUARD AND CLEAN HARBORS 9I ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC., FOR VARIOUS 10 SERVICES THAT MAY BE NEEDED IN THE EVENT 11 OF A MAJOR WEATHER EVENT, DISASTER OR 12 LARGE UTILITY SYSTEM FAILURE FOR A TERM OF ONE (1) YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM 1� CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT 16 BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND 16 CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, 17 INC.; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 16 10 WHEREAS, on June 15, 2010, the City Commission approved a two year 2b1 Agreement with Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., for emergency response 211' support, based on the piggy- backing of a United States Coast Guard Basic Ordering 221 Agreement HSCB84 -09 -A- 100113; and 231 WHEREAS, the City recommends entering into a one (1) year Agreement with 24 Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., based on the prices, terms and conditions of ' I 25 the previous Agreement, for emergency response in the even of a major wastewater spill, or 2a other environmental clean -up, including that resulting from oil spills; and 2f7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 26, Section 1. Each Whereas clause set forth above is true and correct and 33� incorporated herein by this reference. 311 Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves the piggy- backing of a United 3 States Coast Guard Contract with Clean Harbor Environmental Services, Inc., for a one (1) Document in Windows Internet Explorer II 1 year period from the date of execution of the Agreement for various services that may be 2 needed for disaster recovery on an as needed basis. 3 Section 3. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby 4 authorizes the Interim City Manager to execute an Agreement between the City of Boynton 5 Beach and Clean Harbor Environmental Services, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto as 6 Exhibit "A ". Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately. This pricing was submitted to the United States Coast Guard and is the same as the Basic Ordering Agreement HSCG84- 09- A- 100113 entered into by the USCG and Clean Harbors Environmental Services, and is included in this letter. Please provide Clean Harbors with an extension that we may execute in order to continue our relationship with the City of Boynton Beach.
