~ ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
A~ENDING PROVISIONS OF SECTION 4.22 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY ELIMINATING REQUIREF~NT OF
MUNICIPAL DOG LICENSING AND SUBSTITUTING REQUIRE-
MENT THAT ALL DOGS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY BE LI-
CENSED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCES OF PAL~
BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FURTHER FOR A
SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISION, AUTHORITY FO
CODIFY, PENALTY PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE DATE~ AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 4.22 of the Codified Ordinances
of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida; be and the same is hereby
amended to read: "Sec. 4.22 That all dogs kept in the City shall
be registered and licensed ~n accordance With prevailing ordinances
relative said subject matter enacted by the County of Palm Beach,
Florida. No dogs shall be permitted to be or remain within the
City without being registered and licensed as hereinabove provided~"
SECTION 2: Separability: Each of the provisions of this
Ordinance are separable, including word, clause, phrase, or sen-
tence~ and if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid, the
remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain ~n full
force and effect.
SECTION 3: Repealing Provision~ All ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: Authority to Codify: Specific authority ~s
hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the
City's existing Code.
SECTION 5: Penalty Provision: Any person, firm, or corpor-
ation violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon con-
viction be penalized for a fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprison-
ment for a period not exceeding 90 days, or be both, such fine and
~l~mprisonment.
SECTION 6: An Effective Date: This Ordinance shall become
effective in the manner and at the time provided by Law.
