AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID~CITY TO AUTHORIZE POSTING
OF TEMPORARY POLITICAL S~IGNS~PR~VIDING
FURTHER--FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, S~VINGS
CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISION, AN EFF~C~I~~-
DATE2PENALTY PROVISIONS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Chapter 24 of the Codified Ordinances of
the City of Boyn%on Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to add
the following section:
Section 24-23
Temporary political signs may be
posted on private property within the ~ity during the 60 day
period preceeding any local~ state, or national election with
the consent of the property owner. Candidates or parties
desiring to post such signs shall file with the Municipal City
Clerk, a Notice of Intention to post same prior to the posting
of any such sign and shall agree to remove any such signs so
posted within 10 days after the date of the election. No fee
shall be required in connection with the posting of temporary
political signs. Political circulars and handbills may be
distributed within the City durin~ the above 65 Cay period.
S~.~ti~on 2: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is
hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the
City's existing Code~
Section 3: Separability: Each of the provzszons of
this Ordinance is separable, including work, clause~ phrase, or
sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid,
the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain in
full force and effect.
Section 4: Repealing Provision: All ordinances or parts:
of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: Penalty Provision: Any person, firm, or
corporation, violating the provision of tkis ordinance shall
upon conviction, be penalized by a fine not exceeding $500.00
or zmprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days, or'be both
such fine and iraprisonment.
Ssctien 6: An Effective Date: This Ordinance shall
become
effective in the manner and at the time provided by Law.
