NO. 78- 35 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CZTY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 2-24 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINA~NCES OF THE CIT~Y ~OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE PAY FOR THE CITY ~ANAGER IN THE EVENT ©F DISCHARGE, PROVIDING FURTHER FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, SAVINGS CLAUSE, I{EEEALING PROVISION, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTAq~R PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That Section 2-24 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended to add thereto the following sub-paragraph: (d) In the event of a discharge of a city manager by the City Council, he shall be entitled to the following severance pay and benefits: (1) Three (3) months wages calculated at the -rate of pay at the time of discharge; (2) Equivalent cash payment for all unused accrued vacation time due at time of discharge; (3) Fifty (50) percent of cash:equivalent of all unused accrued sick leave due at time of discharge. Section 2: Author_ity. to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code. Section 3: Separability: Each of the provisions of this Ordinance is separable, including word, clause, phrase or sentence, and if any.portion thereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain in full force and effect. Section 4: parts of ordinances Section 5: R~pea_ ~ing Provision: All ordinances or in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
