A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION R12 -045 TO DESIGNATE SCOTT KLINE,
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MANAGER AS THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR CITY-
WIDE AND RETAINING DESIGNATION OF VIVIAN
BROOKS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE CRA AS THE
11 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR FOR ANY
1 PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CRA AREA FOR
1. THE PURPOSES OF IMPLEMENTING THE CITY'S
1 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR
14 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OR EXPANSION,
1 HOUSING, AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVES WITHIN
1; THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND CRA AREAS;
1 PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
1:
1: WHEREAS, Florida Statute 288.075 permits a municipality that does not have a
21 public economic development agency to assign an officer or employee the duty to promote
2 the general business interest or industrial interest of the City; and
2. WHEREAS, on May 15, 2012, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach
2' via Resolution R12 -045 designated Nancy Byrne, then Interim Development Director as the
2 Economic Development Coordinator City -wide and Vivian Brooks, Executive Director of
25 the CTA as the Economic Development Coordinator for any property located within the
26 CTA are for the purposes of implementing the City's Economic Development Program for
27 business development or expansion, housing and community initiatives within the City of
28 Boynton Beach CRA areas; and
29 WHEREAS, since the designations contained in Resolution R12 -045, the City hired
30 Scott Kline, Economic Development Manager designated as the primary staff liaison to the
31 Palm Beach County Business Development Board, with associated responsibilities for
32 negotiating incentive and grant programs requiring financial and proprietary business

1 information; and
a WHEREAS, the City Commissions intent to designate the individuals named herein
1 is to maximize the confidentiality of records submitted by private corporations, partnerships
1 or a
ersons related to location, relocation or expansion of business activities within the City

and the CRA; and

WHEREAS, staff is recommending the designation of Scott Kline, Economic
Development Manager as the City -wide Economic Development Coordinator and the
81 designation of Vivian Brooks, Executive Director of the CRA as the Economic
• Development Coordinator for the CRA area for the purposes of implementing the City's
to Economic Development Program for business development or expansion, housing, and
1 community initiatives within the City of Boynton Beach and CRA areas.
1►• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
1 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
1 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
