3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
4 FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
5 APPLY FOR AND EXECUTE AGREEMENTS AND
0 DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FLORIDA
;; RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
( FRDAP) GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH FOR FUNDING TOWARDS
10 DEVELOPMENT OF CONGRESS AVENUE COMMUNITY
1 PARK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

1 ; WHEREAS, City staff is applying for a grant that will fund the purchase and installation
1 • of the premier playground element of the Congress Avenue Barrier -Free Park which will be
1 accessible by wheelchair or walker and offer new opportunities for children of all ages and abilities;
1 s. and
1 " WHEREAS, this grant requires a 1:1 match, in cash or in -kind, from the applicant for a
1 :. maximum of $200,000 grant; and
1 'I WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection administers FRDAP; and
20 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach deems it to be in the best
2 interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Boynton Beach to authorize the City Manager to
2. apply for and execute agreements and documents associated with the Florida Recreation
2 Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant.
2 • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
2 CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
2: Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being
2 true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption hereof.
2 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach hereby authorizes the
2' City Manager to apply for and execute agreements and documents associated with the Florida

1 Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) grant on behalf of the City of Boynton
2 Beach for funding towards development of Congress Avenue Community Park.
3 Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20 day of August, 2013.
