Effron: Vice Mayor Mrs. Emily Jackson, Councilwoman John Archie~ Councilman Harold Blanchette: Councilman ABSENT: C. Q. Jones, Jr., City Mar~qer Gene Moore, City Attorney Mrs. Collie Clanton, Deputy City Clerk Forres~ L. Wallace, Mayor Vice Mayor Effron called the Special Meeting to order at 7:33 P. M. p~dinanee No. 71-30 - 1st Reading - Adopting 197t-72 Budget Mr. Moore read Ord, No. 71-30. Mr- Arehie moved that Ord. No. 71-30 be passed on first reading, seconded by Mr. BlanchetCe. Motion carried 4-0. Ordinance No, 71-31 - 1st Reading - Establish/rig millage rate for 1971 ~ax Roll · Mr. Moore read Ord. No. 71-31 establishing the millage rate at 9.68. Mr. Btanehette moved that Ord. No. 71-31 be passed on first reading, seconded by Mr. Archie. Motion carried 4-0. Establish meetin~ date for 2nd reading of Ordinances Nos. 71-30 and 71-31 ~ meeting was set for Tuesday~ September 28, 1971 at 4:00 p. M. This meeting was also set to hear Harry G. Boggs relative to increased pension benefits for Police and Firemen. I~. Effron s~ated that Mr. Boggs was heard in Orlando and he has litera- tn/re from that meeting that he would like to have copies given To each Council member. Resolution No. 71-FF - Re Inequitable County Taxation inside municipali~i tles -- · Mr. Moore read Res. No. 71-FF by caption only. Mr. Archie moved that Res. No. 71-FF be adopted, seconded by Mrs. Jackson. Motion carried 4-0. Mrs. Jackson presented the booklet, "Report and Recon~aendation to the Palm Beach County Charter Commission~, to the City Manager's and City Clerk's office. It was originally presented to the Palm Beach County Charter Core, hiss ion and reprinted by the ~Palm Beach Mttnicipal League.
