Minutes 01-04-71 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL~ CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH SPECIAL MEETING HELD AT CITY HALL MONDAY, JANUARY 4~ 1971 PRESENT: Forrest L. Wallace Robert B. Effron John L. Archie Mrs. Emily M. Jackson Harold L. Blanchette Gene Moore~ City Attorney £. Q. Jones~ Jr., City Manager Mrs. Tereesa Padgett, City Clerk Mr. Wallace~ after polling the members present in a workshop session, called a special meeting to order for the express purpose of appointing a Judge. Gene Moome recommended that this action be taken to conform with the requirements of the Charter as set forth in Sec. 38. ~pon call for nominations~ Mrs. Jackson nominated Martin R. Durkin and Mr. Archie nominated Joseph Tomber~. Nominations closed upon motion by Mr. Effron~ duly seconded by Mr. Blanchette. Both Mr. Wallace and Mrs. Jackson stated they felt Judge Durkinhad done an outstanding job this past year: and had added dignity to our Court. The vote: Martin R. Durkin 2 For 5 Against Joseph Tomberg For Against Joseph Tomberg was declared Municipal Judge for the ensuing year. Mrs. Jaekson requested that a resolution be prepared to thank Judge Durkin for the services he has rendered the City of Boynton Beach. Meeting adjourned at 4:35 P. M.
