A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, REQUESTING A NAME FOR THE
NEW HIGH SCHOOL WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF BOYNTON BEACH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, for many years, the City of Boynton Beach has desired
a high school to be located within its city limits; and
WHEREAS, after a united community effort combining the efforts
of the City Commission, the Chamber of Commerce, the Education
Advisory Board, local businesses including Motorola and interested
citizens, an acceptable location was chosen in Quantum Park; and
WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County School Board has agreed and
chosen that site for a high school and planning and construction
efforts have begun.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida does hereby request that the Palm Beach County
School Board name the new High School to be located in Quantum
Park, within the city limits of Boynton Beach, "Boynton Beach High
School".
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Palm Beach County School
Board, and all other appropriate agencies.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
