A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT TO PALM
BEACH COUNTY HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT PROJECT APPLICATIONS FOR
USE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDING FOR PROGRAM YEAR
1994/95; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS,
is proceeding with its
Development Block Grant
October 1, 1994; and
WHEREAS, as a part of this process,
and Community Development has invited
planning process for the
Program year 1994/95, which

commences

municipalities and non-
profit organizations to submit proposals to their office by 5:00
P.M., on Friday, January 7, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has prepared two (2)
proposal applications which are designed to allow for expenditures
to be made in areas where principal benefit to low and moderate
income people could be achieved. The proposals are as follows:
1. N.E. llth Avenue N.E. 13th Avenue Capital
Improvement Project
An estimated $80,000 for Phase III of a
project to fund the final construction phase
of the original FY(s) 1990-93 CDBG project of
which the City of Boynton Beach with the
assistance of HCD Administrators has
successfully completed the first two phases
of infrastructure construction.
N.E. 13th Avenue, Recreation & Park
Development
An estimated $2~9~[5 for acquisition & development of
1.6 acres of vacant land in a residential area to be
used as a neighborhood park. Adjacent to South Florida
Water Management right-of-way, is being developed this
year as a linear park. (In conjunction with CDBG
process)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, hereby authorizes the City Manager to submit to
Palm Beach County Housing & Community Development project
applications for use of Community Development Block grant funding
for program year 1994/95.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
