A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
REQUEST TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND THE NATIONAL
OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION
UNDER THE FLORIDA COASTAL MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM FOR THE DOWNTOWN MANGROVE PARK;
AND PROVIDING AN EF~FECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Department of Coramunity Affairs sponsors a
Florida Coas~tal Management Program for innovative coastal
project funding; and
~HEREAS, the city of Boynton Beach is an eligible coastal
community in P~lm ~each County under Florida Administrative
Code Rule 9~-1.0'09; and

of understanding and a sense of personal responsibility for

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CItY oF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City'of Boynton
Beach, Florida does hereby grant authorization to the City
Manager to submit a grant request under the Innovative Coastal
Project program and authorizes him to sign any required
documents associated with such project.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida strongly supports the funding of this project
and directs the City Clerk to forward a copy of this
Resolution to our local legislative delegation, the Department
of Com~.unit¥ Affairs, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, urging them
to also support our local efforts to make this park a reality.
Section 3. This Resolution will become effective
immediately upon passage.
