3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
4 FLORIDA, AMENDING THE ADOPTED BUDGET FOR
5 THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2013, AND
6 ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2014; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
7 EFFECTIVE DATE.

9 WHEREAS, a final budget was approved by the City Commission on September 17,
10 2013, for the 2013 -2014 fiscal year; and
11 WHEREAS, the Fleet Maintenance Division recommends the purchase of nine (9)
12 replacement units ahead of schedule due to severe damage and the units not being cost
13 effective to repair; and
14 WHEREAS, the units being purchased will follow a lifecycle allowing maximum
15 vehicle efficiency that minimizes annual maintenance charged to each of the operating
16 departments and reducing downtime; and
17 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this the Fleet Maintenance Internal Service Fund
18 will need to be amended for the fiscal year 2013 -14, amending the appropriated budget from
19 $7,328,709 to $8,588,112; and
20 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach deems it to be in the
21 best interests of the residents and citizens of the City of Boynton Beach to approve the
22 amendment to the adopted budget of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, for the fiscal year
23 beginning October 1, 2013, and ending September 30, 2014, by increasing the Fleet
24 Maintenance Internal Service Fund for the purchase of nine (9) replacement vehicles and an
25 additional vehicle for Utilities for a total of ten (10) units by increasing the previously '
26 appropriated sum of $7,328,709 to $8,588,112.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
2 CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
3 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
4 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
5 hereof
6 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida hereby
7 amends the fiscal year 2013 -2014 adopted budget, a copy of such amendments are attached
8 hereto as Exhibit "A" and the appropriations set out therein for the fiscal year beginning
9 October 1, 2013 and ending September 30, 2014, to maintain and carry on the government
10 of the City of Boynton Beach.
11 Section 3. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $8,588,112, increased
12 from the original appropriated sum of $7,328,709, to the Fleet Maintenance Internal Service
13 Fund for the purchase of nine (9) replacement vehicles and an additional vehicle for Utilities
14 for a total of ten (10) units.
15 Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
