With the consent o£ all £ive members o£ Council the Mayor called a special
meeting for the purpose of awarding bids on the fire truck.
Vice Mayor Wallace moved to award the bid for One (1) Canopy Type~ Cab For-
ward 1000 GPM Pumper with Booster Tank to Ward LaFrance Truck Corp. (W. Q.
Dowling~ Jr., Representative) ~or one Model P80-1000-DD5 Fire Truck, at
S56,975.00. Motion seconded by Mr. Michael and carried 5-0.
City Manager requested the reconsideration of the proposed referendum on
drainage and beach acquisition. Mr. Michael moved to consider subject
quest while in special session. Motion seconded by Mr. Nylund and carried
5-0.
The C'ity Attorney explained that time would not permit the legal procedures
necessary ~o get these ~wo items on the ballot for the December 1st election.
Mr. Michael moved to strike these two items from a referendum vote in the
December 1st election. Motion seconded by Mr. Wallace and carried S-0.
The City Manager was to continue work on both items and the City Attorney
suggested that drainage could possibly be done on an assessment basis.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30 P. M.
