Nylund moved the minutes be approved as corrected, seconded by Wallace and motion carried ~-0. Mr. Jones, City Manager: read petitions from about 400 residents in no~th end regarding expensive storm se~r study having been made, and they requested storm sewers.. The Mayor asked that it be on Workshop Agenda. Norman Strnad, 2703 S. Federal, made inquiry in regard ~o boat ramp repair. The City Mam~ger Stated $2700. was encumbered fz~m the last t~dget to ~e used on expedite basis toward improving one ramp and building a second ramp. David Hayden appeared before Council requesting zoning change on West 115~ of Lots 32 and 33~ Laurel Hills, 2nd Addn. to allow con- struetion of a duplex apartment. No one spoke in opposition to the requested change. ~.. Nylund moved that the request be granted, seconded by ~. Wallace and motion carried 4-0. Mrs. Jackson moved~ seconded by b~. Wallace~ passage of 70-28 on second read/ng. Letter from Jr. Womants Club expressing concern of wide spread distri- bution of obscene ma~eria!, was read. Motion carried 4-0. No. 70-29 - Rezoning parcel in Ac. Sec. 2~7/28-45-43 (Randall Associates) Mr. Ny!und favored adding 38 month period in which construction is started or revert back to original zoning. Mm. Web,ell of Zoning Board recommended this .zoning be passed as it was a comprem/se worked out with developers and people in that area. Mr. Wallace moved that Ordinance 70-29 be passed on second reading. Summers seconded the motion and motion did not pass. Mr. Nylund and Mrs. Jackson voted ~no'~. Mr. Wallace moved that Ordinance 70-29 he placed on next agenda, sec- onded by Mrs. Jackson and motion carried 4-0. The City Attorney recom- mended the people affected by this Ordinance be notified by the City this wilt appear on the next agenda. No. 70-30 - Amending Sec. 5-3(d) of tlle Code re sale of alcoholic beverages on election days The City Attorney read O~d/nance No. 70-30. ~]r. Nylund moved that Ord/na/%ce 70-30 re sale of alcoholic beverages on election day be passed, seconded by Mr. Wallace and motion carried 3-1. Resolution No. 70-CC - establishing salary of Chief of Police The City Attorney read Res. 70-CC, establishing salary of Chief of Police. Mr. Nylund moved that Resoiu~gD 70-CC setting salary at $12:324. be passed, seconded by M~. Wallace and motion carried 4-0. Re - Furnishing Water to Bristol Springs Corp. Discussion was held re furnishing water to Bristol Springs Corp. on emergency basis. Mr. Wallace moved that this be approved on limited basis of time - ending March $1, 1971 with $1:380. deposit; contract to be drawn up by Mr. Moo~e. He discussed N. W. 19thAve. whereby plans had been made to use this fom baseball grour~s and shelter. He was advised to develop it as best he could. Beach Acquisition The City has petitions floatinq amound to be signed ~ and Mayor uI~jed individuals to sign i~ they favored beach acquisition.
