Please describe the goals /needs /participants of the program and a brief description of current finances
and /or fundraising efforts:
The Theatre Academy of Boynton Beach Community High School is approximately

$2,000 short of the $10,500 it needs to take 20 top - performing students to the
State Thespian Festival March 24 -29 in are actively seeking donations
from the community as part of our fundraising efforts, which have included:
community performances at The South Florida Fair and Majestic selling Valentines
grams at lunch and a BBTA night at Five Guys' Burgers & Fries.

Under new leadership, 20 kids is the most students ever taken by BBTA to Tampa. We
earned a record 50 medals at District competition, enabling us to take eight individual •
•
events to State, the biggest event of the year for our actors and technicians. We don't
feel comfortable charging students more than $320 to attend, but the actual cost per
child is around $520. Any support is greatly appreciated!

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Gloria Maldonado. I am a teacher at Freedom Shores Elementary
School, which is a Title 1 school, and this is my third year teaching in the Dual Language
program. I am currently teaching first grade and loving every minute of it. However, in
order to be able to continue teaching and to transition from my Temporary Teaching
Certificate to my Professional Teaching Certificate, I need to meet the requirements for it
before June 30 2015.
Some of these requirements are four classes at an accredited university. I have
contacted the University of Phoenix because they offer these classes at an accelerated
pace, further facilitating me to meet my deadline. I can take two classes at a time and be
on my way to my professional certification. The cost of each class with a 10% discount
offered to alumni is $547.50 and that includes the cost of tuition and materials. The four
classes will total $2,190.

I am reaching out for help in achieving my dream to continue teaching. I am
dedicated, and,for the past two years I have been rated as exemplary because I put my
heart and soul into what I do. I know I can positively impact the life of the children-1
encounter, but in order to continue to do that I need to be able to pay for the classes
required for the certification.

a Professional Certified Teacher.
