Motion made by ~. Summers, seconded by Mr. Gallo that the bond as presented by Palm Beach Leisureville be a¢cepted~ subject to approval of the City Attorney. Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING A. Mayor Michael asked if anyone in the audience was appearing against this request. No one responded. ReQuest: R-1 to R-2A Location: 114 S.W. 8th Ave. Applicant: Mary F. McAuliffe Mayor Michael called for anyone wishing to appear in behalf of the zoning request for Mrs. McAuliffe. No one responded. Mayor Michael called for anyone wishing to appear in opposition. Again no one responded. Mot~ion made by ~k. Nylund~ seconded by Mr. Collins that the request be denied as per recommendations of the Plann/ng Board. Motion unanimous- ly carTied. PUBLIC AUDIENCE Pks. Orear ~epresenting the League of Woman Voters appea~ed before council requesting Boynton Beach citizens to be present at a political ~ally in Boca Raton on Saturday: October 12th. Col. Albert Wehrell appeared before Council in opposition to dividing the City into wards for the purpose of electing City Councilmen. M~. Weh~etl strongly supported the present form of government of Boynton Beach. M~. Robert Beyrer also appeared before Council in opposition to the wamd system of Government. Pk. Beyrer further stated should this type of system be adopted the City would be forcing the citizens of Sterling Villaqe into politics. He further stated all the citizens of Sterling Village just wished to make good citizens of Boynton Beach. Mayor Michael commended the citizens of Sterling Village on the splendid support they had given the City Council. M~s. Emily Jackson spoke to the City Council against the 9~rd system. Mr. Robert Spoh!er appeared before council expressing appreciation for the splendid cooperation the Police Department was giving High Point. M~. Summers stated that since it appeared that the Citizens of Boynton Beach were opposed to the vmrd system of Government, that he was going to withdraw and not prssent the proposal as previously announced. Mayor Michael expressed himself as being against the ward system. Gallo that the Boynton Beach Jaycees be ~iven permission to use the Civic Center Grounds on Novembe~ 8th, pro- vided a $500.00 bond ~s put up by the firm furnishing the entertain- ing rides. Bid..- Generator - Motion made by Mr. Gallo, seconded by Mr, Summers that theCity Manager be given permission to go out for bids on one (1) 25 KVA Generator. Motion car~ied~ _~p~roval of Bills (1) Gerald Dake - $550. ~ 500. Total - $1,050. ~. Summers made a motion, seconded by Mr. Nylund that the bill as pre- sented by Gerald Dake & Associates in the amount of $1~050. be approved. Motion ca,tied. Collins that the City,pay Ralph Qui~k for removal of 8900 cubic yards of dirt, at the rate of 48¢ per cubic yard, plus the bid price of the Breaker Wall. Motion carried. OTHER Motion made by Mr. Gallo, seconded by ~.
