R15 -091 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, 3 FLORIDA, APPROVING THE UPDATE TO THE 4 BUILDING DIVISION FEE SCHEDULE AMENDING SIX 5 (6) EXISTING FEES AND CREATING FOUR (4) NEW 6 FEES UNDER THE BUILDING DIVISION FEE 7 SCHEDULE FOR BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION 8 RELATED ACTIVITIES, AND PROVIDING AN 9 EFFECTIVE DATE 10 11 ; WHEREAS, on May 6, 2014 the City Commission passed Resolution R14 -042 12 establishing the Energy Edge Energy Efficiency Rebate Program utilizing funds collected 13 through the City's Green Building Fee; and 14 WHEREAS, since the inception of the Energy Edge program the Development 15 Department has had almost one hundred inquiries into the program of which twenty -eight 16 applications have been resulting in the award of $25,000; and 17 WHEREAS, due to the tremendous success and demand from the trial program, the 18 Development Department is seeking to increase the Green Building Fee to provide for an 19 annual allocation of $25,000 to continue the program for future years; and 20 WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Boynton Beach finds that the 21 adoption of these amendments to the Building Division fee schedule is necessary and is in the 22 best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens or residents of Boynton Beach. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 24 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: 25 Section 1. The above referenced whereas clauses are incorporated herein by 26 reference. 27 Section 2. YELLOW - Changes include the following: - New fees being proposed to cover costs of existing business functions that are not currently on the Building Division fee schedule. New fees are being proposed for cost recovery purposes. - Implementation of a new streamlined residential permitting process for water heater change outs and HVAC change outs.
