O76-44ORDINANCE NO. 76-44 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTOIX- BEACH, FLORIDA, AMEND- lNG SECTION 22-2 OF CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY , CONSTITUTING A PORTION~ OF TIlE MUNICIPAL PLUtVLBING CODE, SO AS TO ALTER SUBSECTION 1206.1 THEREOF RELATING TO MATERIALS TO BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH UNDERGROUND WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS, WATER SERVICE PIPES AND LAWN SPRINKLER SYS- TEMS, AND IlEPEALING SUBSECTION 1211.1 ThI~REOF ~tkELATING TO wATEit SUPPLY CONTROL.;. PROVIDING FuRTtIE!t FOIt ~,SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY (DF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: ~That subsection 1208.1 of Section 22-2 of Chapter 22 of the Codifie¢ Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1206.1 Materials. Change to read as follows: 'A. Materials for underground water supply systems, water service pipes, and lawn sprinkler systems may be a minimum of Type "M" copper tube, brass, or cast iron pressure pipe. All copper pipes and fittings shall be protected, when in- stalled in corrosive soils. They shall be coated with cold tar enamel or other coat- ings approved for such purpose, Appropriate fittings shall be used on the water supply systems or water service piping. B. Underground piping for water service and lawn sprinkling systems, when installed outside of the foundation walls of the building, may be of pressure rated P .V .C. plastic piping as listed in Table 505. In each case, the method of installa- tion shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, as approved b the Plastics Pipe Institute. The minimum working pressure shall be 160 psi, with )ermanent identification markings. C. No existing metallic water service piping used for electrical grounding ~halt be replaced with nonmetallic pipe or tubing until other grounding means are provided, which are satisfactory to the administrative authority having jurisdiction Section 2: That subsection 1211.1, entitled "Water supply control" of Section 22-2 of Chapter 22 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is hereby repealed in its entirety. Section S: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to codi- fy and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code. Section~ Separability: Each of the provisions of this Ordinance is separable including word, clause, phrase or sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be de- clared invalid, the remaimng portion shall not be affected but shall remain in full force and effect. Section §: Repealing Provision: All ordinances or par~s of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
