AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SEC. 2-4.1 OF ARTICLe. ',i 0F CHAPTER 2 OF THE
CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE THE OFFICE
OF CITY ENGINEER FROM AN UNCLASSIFIED TO A CLASSIFIED
POSITION; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVID-
ING FURTHER FOR A,SAVINGS CLAUSEs-REPEALING PROVISIONS,
AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Sec. 2-4.1 of Article Iof Chapter 2 of the Codified Ordin-
ances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida~ which presently reads as follows:
"Position created. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23 of
the Charter of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, there is
hereby created the unclassified position of city engineer, said
position to be filled by appointment by the city council, said
officer to serve at the pleasure of the city council .~'
be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
"Position created. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23
of the Charter of the City of Boynton ~each, Florida, there is
hereby created the classified position of city engineer, said posi-
tion to be filled by appointment by the city rnanageE said officer
to serve at the pleasure of the cityrranager."
Section 2: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to
codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's exisiing Code.
Section 3: .Separabiiizy: Each of the provisions of this Ordinance is
separable, including word, clause, phrase or sentencej and if any portion thereof
shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall
remain in full force and effect.
Section 4: Repealing Provision: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: An Effective Date: This Ordinance shall become effective in the
manner and at the time provided by law.
