kN ORD%NANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODiFiED ORDINAncEs OF
SAID CITY BY A~LENDtNG SECTION 2~4,7.1 and BY ADDING
SECTION 2~4,7¢3~ PROVIDING FOR TP~ SEPARATION OF THE
ENGINEERING AND UTILITIES DEP~RTMENT INTO TWO SEPARATE
DEt~ARTi~ENTS, AND DESIG~ATING THE ADMINISTRATOR OF EACH
OF SAID DEPARTMENTS; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY
TO CODIFY, SAVINGS CLAUSE~ REPEALING PROVISIONS, AN
EFFECTTVE 'DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
¥'~EREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida~ deems it necessary and essential to separate the
Engineering and Utilities Department into two separate and equal
departments in order to provide for the efficient daily operation
of the municipal government; and
NOW, THEREFORE! BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 2-4,7,1 of Chapter 2 of the
Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
~'Sec. 2-4.7.1. Engineering Department ~stablished~
~dministrator.
An Engineering Department is hereby established,
and the City Engineer is hereby designated admini-
strator of the Department."
Sect_ion 2: That Chapter 2 of the Codified Ordinances
of the City of Eoynton Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by
adding Section 2~4,7,3, which shall read as follows:
"Sec. 2-4.7.37 Utilities Department established;
divisions; administrator.
A Utilities Department is hereby established,
and the said department shall include divisions of
water plant, sewer plant, water distribution and
sewage collection. The Utilities Director is hereby
designated as Administrator of the said department."
Section 3. Authority to Codify: Specific authority is
hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance ~n the
City's existing Code.
Section 4. Separabilityi Each of the provisions of
this Ordinance are separable, including word, clause, phrase or
sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid,
the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain in
full force and effect.
