Henry Jarvis of the Southside Bap%is~ Church gave the cation and Councilman Boos led the salute to th'e flag. info-- ~r. Banks moved that the minutes of the regular meeting of June 21, 1965, and the special meeting of June 28, 1965, be approved as written. Mr. Archie seconded. ~lotion carried ~-0 with ~r. ~adsen abstaining since he had been on vacation when these meetings took place. OLD BUSINESS Filling Lots 56~ 72 and 73~ The Lawns Subdivlsiem Hr. Kain reported that these lots would be filled by the owners with Hardrives doing the work. He recommended that no further action be taken until the meetiDg of July 19th. Mr, Banks made a motion to approve the reco~ehdation, seconded by ~r. ~adsen and unanimously carried. Ratifieation of Approval to Ex6outeEasement Grant to Florida ~o~er & Light Co. in, Laurel Hills Park Area The Power Company had requested that the City grant an ease- ment for a pole line and anchor ways v~thin the limits of Laurel Hills Park. After negotiation with;the company~ a reservation had been agreed upon ~nich would pmovide for the removal of the lines~ if future use of the park requires this removal. ~r. ~adsen made a motion~ seconded by ~r, Archie~ that rati- fication be made ~th the reservatien as stated. ~otion was carried unanimously. -1- ~ I N U T E S Uity Council Boynton Beach~ Fla. Banks, Mr, ~adsen asked the City Attorney to explain the meaning of the sewer rate changes to the public, }ir, ~ioore -3- ~,,,,I N U T E S City Council Boynton Beachs July 6s 1965 C told those present that this ordinance amended Ordinance 23-A in regard to residential Customors~ adding multiple dwelling units and a new section for hotels and motels. Industrial rates remain the same. A connection charge of $100 shall be paid to the Building Department in connection with and prior to the issuance of any building permit for each connection thereto. Upon a call for the vote~ Mr. Boos voted ~o.~ mr. ~adsen explained that he vo~edt~¥es" because he has oonfid~oe in the consulting t~e City Attorney and in th~ City ~ana- ger. The ~ ~r. Boos dissenting. Resolution 65-FF, an ag=cement with the F.E.C. Railroad Company granting the City permission to install a sewer main at S. E. 21st Ave.~ was read b~ the City Attorney~ The construction of sanitary sewer system 10-A-1 required the installation of across the railway~s ri~%t of way on the extension of S Avenue. The rail~-~y agreed to enter into a license %~th .t~e Ci~y for thi~ crossing~ on August 25s i~!64~ prior to the letting of the contracts for this work. The license calls for a,payment by the City of SE0.00 for the first year and $1.00 per year thereafter. A form of reso- lution had been made a ~art ,of this agreement and this resolu- tion authorized execution of the agreemen~ by the appropriate officials. Mr. Banks moved that this resolution be adopted, mr. Archie seconded and the motion was unanimously carried. Resolution 65-GG - Road RiEht of ~ay Abandonment Resolution 65-GG was read by the City Attorney. lution pertains to the abandonment of a thirty foot of way in Section 20/29-45-43. This reso- road right In connection with the widening of Congress Avenue a Mr. M. R. Field had agreed to dedicate right of way to the County if the County would abandon a thirty foot road right of way on the north side of the Boynton Canal. This road runs into the City limits and the County had agreed to the vacations if the City would give prio= approval to abandonment of that portion within the City. This road would serve no purpose and was not in use. The City Attorney recommended that the Council reconfirm its prior finding that nuisances and hazardous conditions existed on pmro~l I through 16 and the City ~Ianager be authorized to proceed to Obtain estimates of approximate total cost for the demolition work. ~r. Banks moved that the City Manager be guided by the re.commendations of the City AttOrney to proceed v~ith the demo- li~ions of the hazardous s~ructures. Mre ~adsen seconded the motion whiohwas unanimously carried. PUB~LIC AUDI~CE Objections to some of the contents of Ordinance 65-~8 were voiced by lifo Harry LeFort and Mr. P~y Senkpiel, I~r. Oakley Smith objected to an ~unsightly~ condition and a shack in a certain part of form. Mr. Kain was aware of this condition and informed the complainant and the Council that the condition had already been scheduled for an early cleanup. ~rs. Rosalie Drake appeared on behalf of her son~s property which is ~B on the demolition list. She was advised by the Council to contact her son in New York and to see }irs.
