Vice Mayor Madsen called the special meeting to order in
the absence of ~yor Mahoney, who was absent due to an injured
~OOto
The City Attorney arrived a few minutes late, so that
the first item up for Council consideration was the last item
on the agenda.
Consideration__of Increase in Plumbing__~License Fees
The Plumbing Board had recommended to the Council an
increase in fees as follows~
Present Recommended
Master Plumber's Examination Fee $25.00
Master Plumber"s Occupational License 25°00
Sprinkler System Centre License Fee 25.00
Well Driller Contr. License Fee 25°00
Septic Tank Contractor License Fee 25.00

Mr. McKeehnie, Plumbing Inspector for the City~ told
the Council that the Plumbing Board had made the recommenda~
tion in ~n effort to equalize the fees to conform with the
fees charged by surrounding communities. Mr. Archie stated
that he was in favor of the increase in fees, that it was a
unanimous vote of the Plumbing Board and that every Master
Plumber licensed in Boynton Beach was in favor of the increase.
Mr. Moore read Emergency Ordinance 65-9 which ~ffeoted the
increases as listed above. Mr. Boos moved that the recommenda-
tion of the Plumbing Board be accepted and that Emergency
Ordinanc9 65-9 be approved. Mr. Banks seconded. Motion
carried 4-0.

Mr. Ernest G. Simon, attorney representing Mr. George
Go Samara, Jr., and Mro Carmen Migliore, spoke to Council re-
garding his client's efforts to obtain a license to operate a
barber shop in the Sunshine Shopping Center. He revealed that
the shop was at present operating under a temporary permit,
pending the outconf~ of this hearing. The o%~er of the shop,
Mro Samra, had twice taken the master's examination under the
direction of the City Barber Board and had twice failed° He
had operated the shop for a short time under the Master's
license held by anemployee~ Luther Holcomb, who had since had
to leave his

Mr. Bill Lassiter, President of Sunshine Square, spoke
to the Council regarding the b~ckground o~ Mro Samra openiog
a shop in the shopping center and expressed his desire to see
the barber shop remain in operation.
Mr. Archie moved that the matter be taken under advise-
ment by the Council in order that the Council could a~il
themselves of the opportunity to study the examination papers
and the other evidence and:make, a determination~ in the mean-
while, that the Board and Mr. main be authorized to allow the
barber shop to remain open untit the matter was resolved°
Mro Banks seconded. Motion carried 4-0.

Mr. Moore read the ord&nance which had been recommended

Ordinance 65-8 ~ Rezoning Brock Sturz Tra~t ~d Rauzin Tract
At the request of Mr. Moore, the Council by a unanimous
vote removed the matter of rezening the R~uzin Tract from the
table. This matter had been considered at theNovember 5, 1962,
Council meeting, at which time it had been tabled awaiting
further action by the owners.
