The Rev. Her~y F. Jarvis, Pastor of the Southside B ' aptzst Church, gave the invocation, followed by the salute to the Flag led by Gene Moore. ~Ir. ~ahoney moved ~heminutes of the regular meetins of November ,, 1963, be approved. Mr. SUmmers secondedJ Noti~n passed Unanimously. ~Lr. ~en moved the minutes of spe¢ial meeping of November 8th, 1963, be approved. Mr. M~b_aney seconded. MotmCn carried unanimously. Under old business, ~r. ~ahoney moved that J. Wiltiard Pipes be appointed to serve on the PlUmbing Board as an al~nateunder la2men's classification. N~. Madsen seconded the mo~zon which passed unanimously. Mr. Henderson gave the Council the tabmlating c~ittee's recommendation regarding the awarding of the b~d rom the accoustieal ceiling in the Shuffleboard Building. Three bids wePe read by the City Manager as follows: GriffithFlooring Co. (Lowering of ceiling lights not include&.) Albert Dean ~ 5 $1 60.00 Arming- Johnson Co. Best Electric Co. $ 780.00 (Ceiling) 218.00 (Lowering Lights) The tabulating committee recommended the awarding~of the contract to the combined bids of Auning-Johnson CO. amd Best Electric Co. for a total price of ~998o00. Er. Eahoney m~ved that the Counell the contract for tho installation of the accoUstical soiling to Arming-Johnson Co, fo~ $750°00 and the lowering ~f tho lights to Best Electric Co. for $2t8.00. ~Lv. S~rm~ers seconded. Eotion carried u~animously. Under new buslness,~ Er. S~mers moved that ~e regular December 2~d mee~g of the 9ouneil bepostponed and held Dece~er ~th at ~ :~0 A. E. at ~ich !time the vote be canvassed. N~. N~dsen seconded the ms,ion which passed unanimously. ~rs. Mr. Madsen .secOnds~. -Mr. ~ahon~y asked that the BudSet Report be excepted from the motion since it had not been received. Mr. S~mmers restated his motion as suggested, moving 2hat the Police, Fire and Public Works reports be accepted. M ' - otmon carried unanimously. Nm. Henderson informed the Council that on8 minor change had been made on the preliminary pla~s from the architect for the new jail quarters, that being the inclusion in the plans of drains in the locker tank and recreation room, and asked council to give the architect approval to proceed with final plans and s~eeifications beffore going out to bid. Mr. ~ahoney moved that upon the advice of the City ~anager a~d the report of the committee that the council approve the tentative plans and authorize the architect to proceed with final plans on the jail. 2~r.
