This meeting was called to order by A4ayor Archie, followed by Flag
Salute and Invocation by Vice Mayor Banks.
Mr. 1Viadsen moved the Minutes of August 5th meeting be approved as
written, seconded by Mr. Mahoney and unanimously carried.
Mr. Madsen moved the request of James Henry to rezone Lots 5 & 6,
Blk. ZI, Bowers Park from R-1 to R-Z be denied, seconded by Mro tVIahoney and
unanimously carried.
In reference to a recommendation by Planning/Zoning Board to have
joint meeting with Cou~cil p~MSaining to requests similar to the James Henry
request, it %vas moved/i~h~' ~o~n~l forward their reco~end~on to the ~oard
and ask them to ~laborate on it, seconded by Mr. Madsen and unanimously carried.
On request of William Fordon to rezone Lotto property from RIAA to
1~-3, Mr. Madsen moved the request be denied, seconded by Mr. Mahoney and
unanimously carried.
A~fter discussion in regard to the iViinutes of the Planning/Zoning Board
as it pertains to their decision to hear both sides of a zoning request and make
decision at a closed meeting, Mr. Madsen moved that the Planning Board make ~heir
recommendations the same evening as the public hearing on the reques:s. Motzon
seconded by Mr. Mahoney and unanimously carried.
The lViayor announced that bids for tax bills will be opened at g:00 p.m.
in the City Clerk~s office, -&ugust 20, 1963.
t~ub lic Audience:
Paul Johnson~ owner and operater of Town Tavern appeared before
Council requesting permission to keep this establishment open till 5:00 a.m. He
stated he could not afford to pay his entertainer unless he remained open till 5:00 a.m.
though the entertainer would not be there after 2:00 a.m.

Mr. Summers moved that this request be studied and brought up at next
meeting. There was no second and motion died.

to parking trailers in residential zones.

Mr. l~adsen moved the next regular meeting be held September 9th,
a postponement of one week due to Labor Day: seconded by l~r. Banks and
unanimously carried.
On the request of ~ldie Harvey, /V~r. lV~ahoney moved this request be
denied due to the fact that children would be involved where a beer and wine
license is in existence and that the Chief of Police inspect this premises and
ascertain if there is any ~iol~tion in the original granting of ,the license · lviotion
seconded by A/ir. Banks and unanimously carried.

In response to a req%%est from Florida Power & Light Co. to have the
City %vrite a leiter requestir~g change order authorizing engineers to redesign
a portion of their plans regarding sewer expansion program beoa~se c~rren~
