The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7.30
The minutes of the previous meeting were read.
Mro Oyer said the name should be Lawson and not Lateen,
and Mr. Mahoney said he and not ~ro Durkin moved the ordinances
reco~ded by Mr. Pimentel be passed first to the City Attorney
for his opinion~
Mr. Oyer moved the minutes be accepted with these two
cprrections~ Mr. Partin seconded. Motion carried.
Gerald Cook brouEht up the mstter of his request for a
cabana concession on the beach, and after a long discussion
Mr, ~ahoney moved it be tabled for further ~a~t~ion. Mr,
Durkin seconded on the understanding that both the men interested
in such a concession be at the meeting where the matter can be
strsightened out between them. Motion carried~
~o00 P.M. Wednesday, Epril 9th, was set for the meeting.
A resident of Rolling Green Ridge complained of heavy trucks
damaging Ocean Park a~d Orange Street during the day.
It was agreed'to a-sk the Police Department ~o ~ee what
would be the better way to route the trucks~ and~ if po~smble~
keep them out of Rolling Green Ridge.
Mr. George Miles of Chapel Hill e~ected to certain signs
on streets on City property, which he thought were forbidden by
ordin~nce~ The Joel Newman Construction Company was ~pecifica-
lly mentioned,
It was agreed Mr. New, an be given five days in which to
take down the signs and, if not removed by that time, the City
will take ~hem down. It was also agreed that similar aotio~
will be taken to remove alt Other signs in conflict with City
ordinances.
Fred ~umford asked about a billboard sign and submitted a
sketch of his proposal~
Mro Oyer moved the Building Inspector be authorissd to issue
a~0srmit for-a billboard sign within within 80~ _of
R/W~ and over 100' fr6m the Boyntonborough Subdivisio~ and the
89~ R/W~ (dedicated to the City of Boynton Beach being the
South 80~ of Lot 22 of Sam Brown Jr.~s S~D)~ Mr~ Durkin seconded~

nuisance and should be cleared up.

Zt was agreed requests for the clearance o£ unsightly lots
be submitted in writing, with a legal description of the property,
and a Resolution dsaling w~th them can then be passed by Council.
Chief of Police Carver introduced Yr~ Yas~htN~ Burr of the
~otorola Company, who spoke regarding the CompanySs desirs to
submit figures for a radio station for Boynton Beach~ He said
it would cost approxLmately ~l~O0.O0 to get on the air~ ~d
would be in operation in six weeks~
Police Chief Carver pointed out the advantages such a
station would mean to the City instead of having ~ put calls
through Delray Beach~
~r. Durkin suggested the ~ayor and Chief of Police look
into the financial possibilities of arranging for such a station~
This was agreed to~
There was a long discussion on the increase in the police
force which such a station would necessitate.
~r. ~ahoney moved the Council authorise a Notorola communi-
cation system for the Police D*partment to be put in on a provis~
ional basis subject to the terms outlined in the letter written
by Er~ Burt~covering a detailed outline of his proposition~
which Was read by Mr~ 0yero Er~ Partin secondsd~ ~otion carrisd~
The building report for the month of ~arch was read
amounting to ~$1~7~00.
A letter was read from Thomas Rushing~ Cherry Hi!is~ request~
lng a cha~e in zoning~
A letter was read from the ~ethodist Church requesting
a change iu zoning~

The letters were ordered turned over to the City Attorney
for advertising.
~ro Mahoney moved a Beer and Wine License be approved for
Ethel Wriglat, N,E. 10th Avenue. Nr, Partin seconded~ Notion

Police Chief Car~er read the police reports for the months
of Ya~ary and February~
Nr. Griffith read Ordin~ce No,S0O on zoning, for the
first time~

Nrc Griffith referred to Crest View ~ ~ Mo~ ~ which
~r~ Tabane now says he does not wa~t to sell part of, and
suggested the City make an offer of ~1,800~00 approximately
for the whole lot.

Paterson of Corgl Ridge saying there is no record of any
obligation to pay for the railway crossing by Royal PaLm Viiiag~
Vt. Busieil~ presented a sketch showing his property and
Nrc Griffith read a letter he had received from Mr. Fruda
containing ~he ~ew offer from Yr~ Busiello to release the lots
and said his opinion was that it would be advantageous to
the City to accept the proposed new settlement.

~_~r. ~ahoney asked whose du~y it was to measure houses, as
some people have not yet paid their taxes because their houses
have not been measured.
The u ~y Clerk was instructed to tell ~r. Rotfe that the
houses mentioned must be measured within the next two ~ays.
