AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 55 OF THE MUNICIPAL CHARTER OF SAID
CITY TO INCREASE THE SALARY OF EACH MEMBER OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, INCLUDING THE MAYOR, FROM $150.00 TO $200.00
PER MONTH, AS AUTHORIZED UNDER CHAPTER 166 OF THE
FLORIDA STATUTES ENTITLED "MUNICIPAL HOME RULE POWERS
ACT"; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY,
SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE
DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 55 of the Municipal Charter of
the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be and is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Sec. 55. Compensation of mayor and council.
Each member of the city council including ~he
member who serves as mayor shall receive a salary
not to exceed ~Wo Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per
member per month."
Section 2: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is
hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the
City's existing Code.
Section 3: Separability: Each of the provisions of this
Ordinance are separable, including word, clause, phrase or
sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid,
the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain in
full force and effect.
Section 4: Repealing Provision: All ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: An Effective Date: This Ordinance shall
become effective in the manner and at the time provided by law.
