R93-/~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT AND THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF SUPERVISOR OF UTILITY PUMPING STATIONS; ~KING THESE POSITIONS PART OF THE PAY PLAN; ~ND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, upon recommendation of staff, hereby adopts the job description of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and the job description of Supervisor of Utility Pumping Stations, and adding these positions to the pay plan at Grade 29 and 34, respectively. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida hereby adopts the job description for the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and the job description of Supervisor of Utility Pumping Stations as attached hereto and made a part hereof and adding the positions to the pay plan at Grade 29 and 32, respectively. Nature of Work: Highly responsible administrative, supervisory and technical work in the construction, repair and maintenance of golf course grounds. Employee in this position serves as principal assistant to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists in the administrative duties of this department. Responsible for assisting various on-going programs for the care and maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds and surrounding areas. Supervision is exercised over technicians, work crews, equipment operators and other construction and maintenance personnel. Implements the superintendent's plans of general maintenance and renovation of the golf course. ~Plans and supervises the work of the golf course maintenance personnel. · nspects golf course areas to help determine general and specific maintenance operations. Provides sufficient orientation or training for new personnel and continually supervises maintenance personnel in the proper, safe, efficient operation and care of mowing and other equipment. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation and drainage. Evaluates subordinates performance accurately, fairly, and thoroughly; prepares timely performance appraisals for subordinates. Counsels each subordinate on performance appraisal results; provides program to necessary. improvement by using performance improve job performances when Acts in the capacity of Safety Coordinator for the entire golf course department. Education and Job Related Experience: Required Certification: A degree in Turf Management or Technical Training in Turf Management; must possess a current, valid Florida Restricted Use Pesticide License must have an established U.S.G.A. handicap of no greater than 18, be familiar with the rules and game of golf and frequently play in order to maintain skill level ~igh School Diploma/GED and over one year up to and including 3 years job related experience or any equivalent combination that meet the following minimum ability: ~Minimum Reasoning ability usually associated with this classification: ~bility to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Work includes the responsibility for maintaining continuous safety and efficiency of the plants, supervising personnel, requisitioning materials and repair parts. Administrative duties and responsibilities are received from the Deputy Utility Director, but the employee is required to exercise considerable independent judgement and initiative in carrying out duties.
