A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COF~4iSSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CiTY CLERK TO SUBMIT TO PALM
BEACHCOUNTY HOUSING AND COF&Vf~NITY DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT APPLICATIONS FOR USE OF COMblUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING FOR PROGR~
YEAR 1993/94; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County Housing and Community Development
is proceeding with its planning process for the Community
Development Block Grant Program year 1993/94; and
WI{EREAS, as a part of this process, Palm Beach County Housing
and Community Development has invited municipalities and non-
profit organizations to submit proposals to their office by
Friday, January 8, 1993, at 5:00 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has prepared two proposal
applications which are designed to allow for expenditures to be
made in areas where principal benefit to low and moderate income
people could be achieved. The proposals are as follows:
1. N.E. 13th Avenue - Recreation & Park
Development
Acquisition & development of 1.6 acres of
vacant land in a residential area to be used
as a neighborhood park, & for the development
of adjacent South Florida Water Management
R.O.W. as a linear park. Land is vacant &
located south of C-16 Canal. Improvements
include: wa~er based activity, recreation
equipment, landscaping and parking.
Total activity cost: $344,256.00
2. 6" Water Main and Fire Hydrant Installation
The City's request is for materials only, to
provide adequately sized mains and fire
hydrants, to meet the current safety
standards of 500' spacing and 500 g.p.m, to
the N.S.A. The City's matching funds will be
services in lieu of contribution related to
the design and installation. The project can
be designed and installed within the funding
year.
Total activity cost: $349,391.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACN~ FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to submit to Palm Beach County Housing & Community
Development project applications for use of Community Development
Block grant funding for program year 1993/94.
