Copies of two letters addressed Lo the City of Delray
Beach were read.regarding the purchase of a thousand feet of
oce~ frontage as a }~unicipal Park~ the purchase price to be
shared by Boynton Beach with Deiray Beach and Boca Raton.
f~fter discussion the matter was tabled for further conszde~
ation although the Council agreed that the price quoted was far
beyond wha~ t~e Cdty could afford to pay~

A letter was read from ~/~o Dutch, President of the Boynton
Be ach Board of Re~tors~ prozesting that the recently a~opted
Sign Ordinance No.24V was not ~plica~!e to the City and was
~uenforceable. and requesting its repeal°
~,~r~ Weaver expressed objection ~ the Ordinance being re-
pealed until a new one has bsen ~rawn up to replace it, as sm
Ordinance should be on zhe bookg~nti! reolacem by a better one°
Other members of the Realty Board were presenv and i~. Dutch
gave the reasons of the Board for objecting ~o ~he Or,romance
saying that zo had e~mden~ly been thrown together~

~aa not been carefully prepared~ and suggested that if ~

Board object ~o the present Ordinance they should draw up ohs of
their ovn~ which could replace it~ ~
It was decided that as the portioh of the Ordinance devoted to
Real Estate signs is small the Reel Estate Board should draw up a
tentative amendment ~o the present Ord=nance.
r~ro Dutch asked that Section 12, paragraph S be held in
abeyance for a permoa of nmnezy days during ~mcn time the Realty
Board would recon-mend changes.
The matter was tabled unvi! the next meeting of the Co'mucit

There was a discussion on the Quik-Chek sign setback. A
representative of Stevens & Sons showed blue prints of a sign to
~he Council which he wished ~o have approved, and a~eed to
await~ the decision of the Corst Ridge Development Comply as to

~r. Griffith said that in accordance ~th the a~eement
between the City and Cor~ Ridge Develo~.ent Comply of December,
1953~ the Comply agreed to give the City ~V50 for lot No.28 of

~r. Griffith said a Resolution should be passed making
addition vo Ordinance No.243, passed a few mOnths ago~ as the Fire
Chief feels that o~ fire limits should be extended along the
Hight'ay from one end of the 0ity to the other.

~. Griffith said the ~erican Bell Telephone 0omp~.y has
requested pe~.ission to build a booste~ s~atiom as a ~ede~ station
for T.V. purposes~ that t~e request has been approvea by the
Zoning Board vzho mecommend tha~ a building permit be issued.
Mr. Shook moved, i~{r~ Weaver seconded, that s,ach a building
should be pe~itted by the 0ity. i~otion carried.
~[r. Griffith read an Ordinance calling for zwo new zones
recommended by the Zoning Bo~d: Zone ~-2 for single fmmily
residemces~ mhd Zone G. for churches ~nd schools.

of the Zoning Bo~d covering these two new zones A-2 and G. be
accepted~ ~ot ion carried~

that~ regarding Rainbow G~dens~ mesues~ for a hi,at ci~b iicense~
the City Attorney's reco~mendatlon ~hould be accepved that the
club can stay open until 5 A.i~[. under such a license~

Mr. Cb~istiausen gave a report on the amount of trash etc.
collected during the m~mth of December.
Mro Ch~s~ansen said he had been requested by the S~huffle-
board Co~rt to ask the Co~ucil to have various repairs and paintLug
done on the building.
Mr. Weaver suggested advertising f~ bids for the painting of
the outside of the building amd the benches. This was agreed to.

that the money received from the sale of lots be deposited in the
~irst Federal Savi~gs & Lo~ Bank at Delray Beach be accepted.
Shook seconded the motion, which was carried.
Mr. Shook moved, ~nd Mr, Nearer seconded, that the Cemetery
Board's recorrm~endation that $~2.00 be expended by the City for a
sign for the Municipal Cemetery be accepted. Motion carried.
There was a discussion on the maXi~um ~ount of merchandise
which could be p~chased without a p~chase order.

I~o Hood reco~uended that p~rchases up to ¥10.00 be allowed
without requisition. This was agreed to.
Mr. Weaver suggested that at least the Cou~aty Co~issioner
and a~uy ex-City Cm~missioner shoul4 be invited to the Bond burning
ceremony on February 7.
