The. meeting was called to order at 7°30 P.M. by Mayor
Purinton.
Ers. Ruth Bowers requested that a hole in the street
near her property be attended to.
Mayor Purinton said that the Street-~ Dena~tment
been iinstru~ted to take care of roads
that no promise could be made to Mfs.Bowers as to time as
the same condition exists all over tow~ due to ihe recent
heavy rain.
Mr. Shook said the Street Department will do the best
it can.
Mr. Michael Kolendo referred to ~t~ ~ ~,.~

T~e Cmty Clerk sazd East~m Avenue is the_only street
that has been acce~ted as put mn according to City specifications.
City Clerk Dorothy V. Williams read the minutes of the
last regular meeting of September 8, 195~.

Also the name Chadwick should read Chadwell on the

There was a discussion regarding Mr. Joe H~rless's

that this statement be incorporated in the minut

The application was approved.
~. Hood moved that the request be turned over to the
Beverege Board~ ¥~. Weaver seconded, Mot_on~ carried.
Mayor Purinton remarked that applications for liquor
licenses are coming in too fast and suggested that it might be
advis able to have a new zoning to take care of these, saying
that he was in favor of such zoning.
Mr. Griffith was asked to have this matter teken uo at
the next Zoning Board meeting. -

Regarding the ~
pro~ected market Mr. Purinton said that
requests for bids have dsfinitely been sent out fer Plumbing
and ~ ~ '
e~ec~r~cal work by the contractors, not only for the
m~rk~t but for additional stores.
Regerding the extension of ninety days~ Mr.Griffith
explained that this h~d become necessery owing to the change
of loce~ion of the building on the lot.
~ ~. Fredrich moved that the agreement written by the
~Y ~ttorney regarding extension of time eor the ~
nn s~ore be accepted. Mr. Weaver seconded. M~~ried~
_here was a d~scuss~on regsraing ~rk~ng on the Street
South of City Hall. It was stated that parking on this
street v;as a hazard to the health and welfare of ~he Police
Department.
Mr. Shook suggested parallel parking'lines on the South
side of the street only~ with the Darking space marked off.
It was suggested that before oarking is forbidden on
this street the matter should be.tu~ned~ov~r to the ~olice
DePsrtment for ~hecking a~consideration and report-at the
next meeting. -
~m. Shook moved and Mr. Wes. var seconded that ~ s~ of
$300.08 be expended for checking and inspecting the City
sewerage. ~ system and seoticts~ks,~ ~ . ~ M~. Brock~, in con-
smderat~on of this fee ~ ~o gmve an ?stimated cost of putting
the whole System in condition. Motmon passed ~nanimo~sly.
Mm. Hochmuth was asked for his report on Boynton Beach
T~ading Centre ~nd said that so far M~. Boos hasl made no re-

A letter from Mr, J.P,Cochrane Er.~ C.P.A.~ was ~ead
~ga, rd~ng the~renewat of a replacement fund in Connection with
~ne wa~er s~stem~ and suggesting that '$250.-00 be os~d monthly
into a fpecmal account. Mrs. Williams asked what-she should
do abou~ it~ as actuslly this money ms being snent monthl
on extensions es orovided for Sn the Water Agreement. Y
It w~s the opinion of the Cotuucil that es the money
is ~lready being spent fo~ extensions and improvements~ they

s~ramg~mened ou~, excepting that at oresent no provision is
made f~r r~tirement pensions, and that the next ~tep ms to
decide on some olam for this. He thought the Budget should
set aside a certain amount of money for such retirement,

There'being no further business, M~yor Purinton adjourned

magazl, ne referred the Council to copies of the sm~mer issue of the
magazine on the table and asked that t.he Council eon.slde~ placing
an order f~r a two page advertisement in the winter ~ssue of 'The
Guide*~ which will be published in January, 1984 and c~nt lin 148
pa~es. He offered a two page advertisement plus the plac lng of
Boymton Heath on all maps for $195.08 which is 80~ of the
rate. The advertisemenz was to be composed of entirely
and a layout to be submitted for the approval of the' Court

Mr. Weaver recfuested that the Minutes designate that Weaver

of the owners in Laurel Hills Subdivision approve of zoning the

space for each dwelling.

Two letters from the Palm Beac~ County Board of Health regarding
the municipal sewer sTste~were read.
After a tengthF discussion of the poor condition and the tn-
adec~acy of the present sewer syste~, the proble~ was tabled to be
brought before a special executive meeting on Friday the llth.
Brockway and Mr. Eddy of the Palm Beach County Board of Health are
to be invited to attend this special execative meeting.

appoin±ed a Board of GOvernors for the cemetery to aci:-fe~ the
balance of the year, Said Board to consist of the following;

Boswerth, Mrs. Bertha Chadwi~, and the City Clerk, l~rs. Dorothy

Mr. Griffith was am±her±zed to order 50 copies each of code
booklets - Fire Prevention Code, Abbreviated Edition 1950 and
NationalBuzlding' ' Code, Abbreviated Edition 194§.
Mr. Grill±th reported that he had checked the fire agreement

meeting of ±he Ocean Ridge Council.
Mr, Griffith advised the City Clerk not to send a copy of
the City Tax Roll to the COunty office. He stated that t~ere was
nothing cc~pelling her to do so.
Mr. Grill±th stated that he had been checking Senate B~ll #152
~rov~ding for the retirement of Police Officers. He had ~rltten to
Florida League of Municipali±ies, C. M. GaF and J. E/ Lateen re-

until an opinion had been given by the Attorney General.

A bid for painting the 'City of Boynton Beach' signs was sub-
mitred by Gallery Sign Co.
Mr~Frednch' made a motion to accept this bfd. Mr. Hood
seconded ~d the motion was carried.
The Council recmmmended that the w~rds 'B~ynton Beachf be painted
above 'City Hall' on the City Hall building.
Permission to pRrchase twenTy-five 12' psots to be used in making

Mr. Fredrich toe--ended that a change be made in the Garbage
pickup. He stated that the City was growing at such a rat
either a change would have to be r~de or an additional tru,
