Nayor P~rinton called the meeting to order
There was no discussion from th~ public.
City Clerk Dorothy V. Williams read the minutes of the
previous re~mlar meeting of the Co~uucil of June
~. Fr~drmcn moved ~ad Nr. Hood seconded that the minutes
be accepted as read. ~otlon passed ur~m~'~ously.
~r. Fredrich reported on the vandalism in the parks ~nd
playErounds and said it would be necessary to h~ e a City
ordinance to deal with this, if there was not already one.
He suggested Jasmine Street be closed and the entrs~ ce
blocked with a chain and posts.
~g~. Christiansen was asked to attend to this.

when found, must pay for the d~mage~
Nr~ P~earzch suggested 'No Parking~ signs on the East
side of Alden Street in order to force p~rkir~ in the right
place; also signs forbidding dogs and bicycles.
~. Weaver made a mo,_on that' t_h~legal ~d~t~r~b~ znstructed
to draw up m ordinance, or an amendment to au existing ordinance,
to cover the vaudalmsm mn ~he parks and play~ounds. ~r.Fredrmch
seconded the motion which was passed unanimously.

~ar, Wearer er drew attention to the fact that new developments
were putting t~eir utility poles on the edge of streets instead
of along the easements, and Suggested that the attention of the
Florida Power & Light dompany sad of the Telephone Compauy be
called to this infraction of regulations.
Nrc Fredrich said the dedication of t~ colored playground
had taken place on S~curday~
With reference to bills for p~olic work, Mr~Purinton
recommended that in ~t~e bids should be c~led for on all
City work above $100.00. This was agreed to.
There was s iongdiscussion in coD~ec~ion with the buildings
recently erected by ~. Boos on 0ceau Avenue~ W~ t of the F.E.C.
tracks, for which no permits for pl~binE or electricity had been
obts~ned.
There was also a long discussion on ~. Boos having hooked
up the pl~nbing of these buildings with the sewer, and the Council
went on record as sa~ing th~ nouons should hook on to t he sewer,
which ~Purinton says does not exist~ ~ud the genere.1 opLulon
of the Council was that the City has not get $ sewer.
~ Fredrich made a motion that the City Attorney be
instructed to draw up ~u emergency ordinance that no one should
be permitted to h~ok on to the sewer. Er. Hood seconded the
motion which was passed un~n~mously.
Er~ Boos had described the buildings on the plan as store-
houses and garages~ and Er. Fredrich suggested that the job should
be s topped and ~. Boos be asked to bring in a fresh plan for the
~pproval of the C omaissioners, showing the electrical sm~d plumbing
layout. It was a~eed th~ a letter to this effect should be
written to ~,~Bo0s~ ~ud th~ the Electrical Inspector should be
asked to look into the matter.
~r. Fredrich moved that a Resolution be adopted th~ from
this t~e on no one be permitted to hook on to the sewer.
Weaver seconds8 the motion which was passed unanLmously.
With reference to the Super ~smket, whose option has already
expired, ~r. Purinton said he would commtuuica, te with them tomorrow
and Mr. ?redrich suggested they be given two further weeks.
Zt was stated thsb the Casino project has not yet been started,
and .~ l~rinton said he would ta~k to the people again tomorrow,
giving them a deadline, and would report back to the Co,mucil.
