BEACH ON JUNE 18, 1953.

Two gentlemen representing a sign company at Lake Worth
requested Permission to put up a couple of signs advertising
the Aurora,S, saying that locations ~or the oroposed signs had
been donated. In answer to a question the~ stated that they
had net Che6ked with the State H~ghway Depar%ment.
Mr. Fredrich said our City Ordinance forbids the erection of
advertising sig~s for out=of-town attractions on our highways, and
Mr. Griffithsaid the general oolicy of the City had been to deny
the general erection of such s~gns.
After discussion it was agreed that a letter and sketch of
the · signs, with the exact location~should be presemted to
the~ , who will then look over the situation,
City Clerk Dorothgy V. Williams read the minutes of the last
regular meeting ef the Council on June l, 1953,
Mr. Weaver moved that the minutes be accepted asread. Mr.
Fredrich seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
A letter was read from the Plumbing Insnector, dated June 15,
recommending an amendment to the Plumbing ~dimance.
Mr. Fredrich moved that the recommendations of the Plumbin. g
Beard be included in the present Ordinance. Mr. Weaver seconded
the motion, which was passed unanimously.
A letter, dated June 8, was read from the U.S.ArmyEngineers
regarding a canal to be dredged by Walter Lyman.
An Ordinance was suggested to take care of the ~ulkhead.
A letter was read from the Florida East Coast Railway say~ng
that w~rk en the Central Avenue crossings was being ~aken care of.

Mr. Fredrich suggested the use of a rotary~ saying that
the owners could be billed Just the same.
Mr. Christiansen expressed his~ thanks to the Council
for enebt~ing hDa to attend ~he water course at Gainsville.
Mr. Griffith brought up the matter of the mortgage payment
due fr,m the Beynton Land Company May 15, saying he had re-
ceived a telegr4m from New Yo~k that $15,~39.00 had beensent.
Mr. Griffith said he had given Ns. Firtrelle notice that
the contract for additional land in acreage No.~, recently
cleared through the courts, must be closed within ten days.
Mr. ~redr~ch said he noticed that the City was buying high
~ t
test gas for the oolice cars ~ suggested tha high'test be
used for all City~ equipment, as an economy.
It was agreed that this should be given a trial.
A representative of the Westinghouse Electric Supply company
recommended his Company's traffic lights and agreed to send
literature and quotations concerning them to the Council.
There being ne further business~ Ms. Hood adjourned the
meeting.
