Minutes 05-18-53MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF T~E COMMISSIONERS OF BO~Y~ ON BEACH. FLORIDA, HELD AT THE CITY HALL~ BOYNTON BEACH, ON MAy 18, 1953. Mayor F.L.Purinton Mr. C. Howard Hood Mr. Arthur Fredrich Mr. Stanley Weaver. Ne matters were brought up by the public. read of the last regmlar Mr. Fredrich moved and Mr. Hood seconded that the minutes be accepted as read. Motion passed umanimo~sly. Mr. Fredrich stated that a plan had been arranged with Mr. Christiansen that from October I notification will be made in the local newspaper of the dates on which trash will be picked up and in which district. A letter, dated May 16, from the Beard of Realtors of Boynton Beach was read offering help in the formation of a Planning Beard. Mr. Purinton said that a Planning Board is definitely re- quired for the City, that it would take at least two years to get going, and must.come before the Commission for decision. Mr. Hood suggested a reply to the letter be made that the City will be glad to co-operate at any time. Mr. Fredrich said that such a Board should be at the discretion of the Mayor and Commission without the recommendations of outside people. The matter was tabled. Mr. Fredrich renorted that a citizen living on Ylang Street apologis~ing for the trouble he may have given to the City and Police Department regarding the supposed loss of s gun, which he has now found. Bids for the ourchase of bo~ds were opened and read: 1. Harvey 0yet offered $ 500.00 for $ $25.00 2. Prendergast, Fahey & Co., of N.Y.City, offered ....... $1 $1 $1 $1 $1 000.00 for $ 8~0.00 000.90 for $ 850.00 000~00 for $ 860.00 000.90 for $ 870.00 000.00 for $ 880.00 -2- After discussion, during which Mr. Purinton recommended purchase of the bonds, and Mr. Griffith thought it might establish ~a precedent, Mr. Fredrich moved that the bonds be redeemed at the prices quoted. Mr. Rood seconded and the m~tion was passed ~man~mously. The .matter was turned over to the legal department for action. Mr. Griffith said he had several water-refunding contracts prepared, and that some of these have not been signed by the ~ntereated part,es, who should be notified of the necessity for heir aignatUres. One thing hanging fire is the closing of t~e last fourteen acresto the B~ynton Land Company, which they are ready to Close during the first week in June. The City should be ready to Mr. Fredrich moved that the previous motion made regarding redemption of bonds be changed to a Resolution. Mr. Rood seconded. Notion passddunanimously. A resolution regarding unpaid City taxes was read by the City Clerk. Mr. Rood moved, and Mr. Weaver seconded, that the Resolution be accepted as read. Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Christiansen submitted the water report for the month of April and the Sanitation report for the same period. He ~eported having picked uo twenty loads of trash in the 'Clean-up' of'the City. - Mr. Weaver moved that the reporte be accepted as read. Mr. Hood seconded, Motion passed unsnimously. Mr. Constance submitted a plat of Gulf Stream Estates and said he would like to re-plat the five acres for his client; that the~e are twenty-five lots in it and he would like to re-plat it for nineteen lots. He said he wanted to get the auproval of the Commissioners before taking it up with the County. Mr. Griffith said that as this did not involve a change in zoning it need not come before the Zoning Board. The only objection was the matter of set-back, which should be twenty-five feet instead of the fifteen feet shown.
