The suggestion was agreed to.
~r.Kolsndo stated he had a problem in connection with the
subdivision Which he is building in Bowers Park in ~hat he was
not able to make the two streets which require scarifying and
topping. He is willing 5o split the expense of the work with
the City, ~ich will benefit from the completed streets.
~r. k~er~el suggested that City equipment be used on this
work, if the owner of the development %~ould provide the
materials~and labor, except the machine operator.
~r. Shook asked how far the City was going in making
streets this year.
~. ~erkel said the City, unfortu~atet~ had no money
for more work of this kind.. - ~'
The Mayor ~uggested using City equipment for two streets,-
later it would ce three,- to be Scarified and topped. One
street would be entirely new as at present there is no curb
or anything to show its position.
I~r. l~erkel said this would mean getting involved with
the labor question; that the City wants to gat as many streets
as possible f~xed, but it was a question of how much labor the
owner was ~'~tlzno to provide, besides ~urnishing the rock and
hauling it to where it was needed.
It was decided that the 9itywould he~p as much as ooss-

worked out to Help him.

Nr. Griffith again brought up the matter of the tax
certificates which are not,.ready for foreclosure and asked
whether the Cit~ would llk~
to sell them. He suggested
selling them in bulk at face value.
The Nayor referred to the benefit dance to be given on
Saturday n~ght ~or Police Chief Ca~ver, who, he said, would be
out for quite~ nine weeks, He suggested that the City get
behind the dance as far as possible. He said the Delray Police
