Berry making au application for a Beer and Wine License. Mr. Purinton said that, !agally, he did not sea why fur- ther Beer and Wine Licenses should not be granted, that it was only hard liquor licenses which w~ra restricted, b~t he pointed out that ~ir~ Berry had a lot of children and asked whether licensed premises could be considered a good place for them. A motion was made by ~.Provinoe, seconded bM ~.Hood, that the plats submitted ~y~Wi~%n~lum be accepted, if ths spe~zcatzon is checked oy the City Attorney. M~tion passed. ~r~ Purinton asked if thews ~=~ _ ' ~[~_e any Guest~o~s from the public~ but none were forthcoming~ ~ -'' ' ~ ~ Secretary of ~o. ~fmll~ams read a letter from th~ Florida League ~ ' ' '~' of ~un~c~palm~zes,.encloszng ~ sampxs ordinance defining communism, expresszng a clear and present danger therefrom, and fixing penalties for the advmuoement ~ Griffith stated that ~iami recently had a shggestion brought mo before their Council~ but that man present had said that at that time they were opposed to such ~sgislation, which would result in sending Commumism ~adergrcundo The ~imui Council are now getting a final de~ cision on what would be the right action, as it is a Federal question. He added that some towns have already passad such tsglslatz~n~ b,at it is not known whether this is mn accordance with the wishes of the Federal Bureau of investigation, The matter was tablsd for further invest~gation~ · - h the Mr. Provlnoe moved and ~r. Province made a motion, seconded by Mr~ Hood~ that the job be given to MT.HaTless of installing the new Card index Systsm of all property on the City books, as lowest biddsr~ as he is well quatified~ ~otion passed. ~r. Purlnton again stated that the objections to the System had been based on a misunderstanding; that some day ts~es must be raised, bat it %~mn~t be on real estate~ He said that enquiries had been made into operating costs of Boynton Beach ~ud thres other cities by persons vdao wanted them for comparison purposes~ and it had been fcun~ t~a~ Bo3va- ton~s figures WeTS se lo~r that ~hey would nov be ~sed.
