Minutes 03-03-42REGULAR MEETING OF MAR~H 3, 1942. & Regular Meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, was held at the City Hall, Tuesday afternoon, March 3, 1942 at 1:30 P. M. Present: F~ed G. Benson, Mayor N. M. Weems, Vice Mayor A. V. Peterson, City Clerk The above constituting the entire Boa~d of City Comm- issioners of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 3, 1942 were read and approved as read. Upon motion made by Commissioner Benson, seconded by Co~issioner Peterson and duly carried, the following Resolution was duly passed and adopted: RESOLUTION BE IT RESOL~~ED that notice is hereby given by the City Commissioners of the City of Boyntcn Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, that a General Election of said City will be held at the City Hall, on the Dixie Highway, in the City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of Eight oTclock A. M. (Eastern War Time) and Sunset of the Thirteenth (1Sth) day of April, A. D. 19~2 for the purpose of electing an encumbent to the office of VICE-MAYOR, for a term of three~ (3) years. All nominations for said office shall be made at least Twenty (20) da~s prior to the date of said election. Nomina~ting petitions or certificates shall be accompanied by a filing fee of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00). Candidates may be voted for on the ballot without being nominated. Notice is further given that T. E~ ~eolbright, Ruby I~. Snell and John A Klep are hereby appointed Inspectors and Eunloe Ej Magnuson as Clerk of said Election and are ordered to report at the City Hall on the day and time aforesaid to hold said election. BE IT FURT~R RESGLVED that the Registration BOok cf the City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, be opened for the Registration of all qualified electors of the City of Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, at the City Hall on the F~th (4th) day cf March, A. D. 1942. All persons desiring to register for the General Election called for the Thirteenth (l~th) day of April, A. D. 1942 should register on or before April Second (2nd), A. D. 1942, at which time the Registration Book will be closed. Upon motion made by Commissioner Weems, seconded by Commissioner Peterson and unanimously carried, the following Bills were approved for payment: Florida Power & Light Co $ 149.58 Paul Mercer 64.~3 Hoods Auto S~;4~;'~ 45,59 H & W B Drew Co ...... V.46 Ocean City Lumber Co..[~ 1t.30 There Being no further business at the moment, the meeting was recessed to March 24th at 1:30 o'clock P.M. at which time the meeting was again called to order: The Clerk presented three (8) nominating petitions, each being signed by more tha~ Twenty-five (28) qualified electors cf the City of Boynton Beach, requesting that the names of T. A. Murray, Jeff R. Snell and M. A~ Weaver be placed on the ballet in the General Elec~icn to be held on April 13th 1942 ~whieh were accepted by the Commis_sien. Thereupon the Clerk was inst~cted te ~aye 600 Ballots printed for use in the General Election to be held on April 13th, 1942, having P~inted thereon in alphabetical order the names of T. A. NUrray, Jeff R~ Snell and M. A. Weaver. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. City Clerk~
