A resolution was adopted c~lling for a special election to fill the ~expired te~ of City Clerk and Commissioner to be held Tuesday, Dec. 3,1946. It would not be fair to you ~Or the citizens of the community, to take advantage of my elective position to fttrther my stay in office, when I know I o~u no longer render that degree of service which the people generally expect and demand-- and at the same time fulfill my duties as City Cie~k. ~yassociation with you has ever been pleasant and helpful and I assure you .th~.t if at any tlm~ you are in need of my a~sistance on any p~oblem, I will he very glad and feel it an honor to be called upon.
