Board Absentee Policy CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH BOARD ABSENTEE POLICY The Mayor and City Commission appreciates the services being provided by the Members of Boards and Commissions and recognizes that the participation by all members of the Board is important if a board is to be effective. In order to ensure participation of a full board in a reasonable way, it is concluded by the Mayor and City Commission that when a board member has missed three monthly meetings for any reason, that member will be notified that one additional absence will cause his/her board membership to be terminated and a replacement to be appointed at the time of the next absence. • Approved by Mayor and City Commission on April 21, 1987. They should be advised of the City policy and a request should be made to them to adopt a policy that conforms to the City policy. That is not to suggest that we can make them adopt the same policy. • 1
