Tattersall seconded~ by Clarence Benson that all bids be rejected as toehigh: all the ~ommlss~ loners voting in the affirmative° A general discussion was then held as to how the City might get this work done at a lesser cost, It was moved by F. L. Purinton and seconded by Clarence Benson that Brooks Norton be fBired as a Police Officer effective July l~ 19~9. All commissioners approved. The total ' d de!i~quent t~es on the 42 lots involve were $3600.62. The Co~ission agree~ to offer to settle these on a basis of 6 years or $912,OO and if Mr. Priester objected at this figure to settle the same for $792~ OO or five years ts~es. A request to sell sparkle- t~e fireworks was rece~vea by the Co~missicn it was rui~d however that sale of these would be contrary to Ordinance No. u ~ ~ confirr~ed the p~chase of a 1947 Chryst~r for use by the The o~ss~on Police Department at a cost of $2200.00 and the sale of the oresent police car of $77~,00 The ~ommission voted to contribute $1~0.00 to expenses of the Sth of July celebration to be held in Boynton Beach under auspices of the American Legion.
