A regular meeting of the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida, was held at the City Hall on Tuesday, August 5~ 1947
at 2:00 P.M. The following, being all of the Commissioners~ ware
present:

The meetin~ was called to order promptly by the Msyor. The
minutes of the last regular meeting of July 1st were read in addition
to the minutes of those soecial meetings dated July 2nd, July lOth~
and July 21st, which minutes were ~duly adcepted by & motion made by
Mr. Tattersall and seconded by Mr. Purinton.

A letter was received from Mr. Ralph D. Mulhollen asking
Commission approval to erect an outboard motor sales ~nd service shop
east of the Federal Highway on the north side of Boynton Canal. ~s
this is property owned by C. 01 Miller, the letter was turned over to
him. He s~ated that no lease o~ permit had been obtained from him and
he suggested the Commission write a letter to Mr. Mulhollen requesting
that he contact Mr. Merkel who is building docks on the south~side of the
canal. Such letter was duly authorized to be written.
Authorization for ordering one Wallace & Tiernan Chlorinator and
Booster Pump from East Coast Salvage and Warehousing Company was withheld
pending further investigation.
Abatement was authorized by the Commission of the 1955 taxes on the
following lots in Cherry Hills inasmuch as property was.state-owned
at that time. This confirms DT#312 dated July 26, 1957.

A letter waslr'eceiv?d from the State HOtel Commission requesting
that we comply with Florida Statutes Chapter %11, Section %ll.O~ and
511.23 when issuing building permits and occupational licenses. The
Commisslon requested the Deputy Clerk to comply with their request.
A letter'was received from Jerrold F. Jacob, Attorney at Law in
Lake Worth, F!ori~a asking CommisSion approval of a transfer of liquor
license ~ow 'in the name of Gus Fillo~ to Louis S. Rankin & Gee B. Cue
on premises known las "Five Acres".

The question was brought up concerning the new cometary plots.
~ sample deed from the Lake Worth ~Pinecrest Cemebary" was shown
and the form was approved by the Commission. Authorization was given
the Deputy Clerk to order the required number to supply our needs for
the new cemetary. A question of the cost of a 9emetary plot was
brought up but the price of $1~.00 per plot still stands.
A letter was received from the Columbian Bank Note Company
acknowledging and thanking the Commission for instructions they
received from Thomas M. Cook & Company to prepare 60 $1000 water
revenue certificates.
A letter was received from the Florida Power & Light Company
asking for a letter of authorization to install the following lights
in Colored Town:

- Between the Continental Club & Green on
Wells Road
Such letter was duly authorized to be written.
~ letter was received from Joe D. Hatless pointing out that
abstracts covering property ~he City wishes to sell make notatio~
that Lots 8 & 9, Block 6, Original Town of Boynton have been dedicated
for park purposes. The CommiSsioners stated they would get in touch
withthe County Commissioners to see what can be done to overcome
this situation so that these land sales can be completed.
Dr. W. C. Williams Jr. made an apDearance at the meeting asking for
a road up to his property located in Acreage Section 33. The Commission
withheld my definite decision but stated they would do what they could.
Mr. Tattersall made motion to purchase a power lawn mower at
$175.OO from Herman Butts and stated the City was in great need of one.
This motion was seconded by Mr. ?urinton with al! Commissioners voting
in the affirmative.
Mr. Tattersall made a mo~ion to transfer $~O00.00 from the Interest
and Sinking Fund to the General Fund until such time as the City is
able to again~imburse the Interest and Sinking Fund. Mr. Purinton
seconded the motion wi~h all Commissioners voting in the affirmative.
Approval was given to reimburse Mr. May at ~¢ a mile for all
driving done on City business.
Mr. ~. O. Miller asked the Commission f or an appropriation of
$200. for the Resources Development Board. Mr. Purinton made a motiQn
that $200.00 be given which motion was seconded by M~. T~ttersall with
all Commissioners voting in the affirmative.
The City Commission suggested the n~me of W. T. Woolbri~ht
as the third member of the Firemens Relief and Pension~Fund Committee
subject to the approval of the Fire Department.
A latter was read from Wideman, Wardlaw & Stewart~ local counsel
for the S.A.L. Ry.~ in regar~ to ordinances or resolutions governing
the operation of railroads within the limits of Boynton Beach. It was
the opinion of the Commission, after a search of the records~ that there
wereho such ordinances or resolutions in effect.
There being no further business, the meeting was declared
adjourned by the Mayor.
