OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
H~LD AT CITY HALL ON WEDNESDAY,
NOVEMBER 19~ 19~7 AT 2:00 P.M.
A special meeting of the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach was held at the City Hall-at 2:00 P.M. ef the 19th day of
November, 1957. The meeting was called to order promptly by the
Mayor.
Thereupon the seale~ ballot box was brought before the Commission
and the City Clerk~ Mr. Bensons broke the seal and opened the box, for
examination of contents. The Election Board returns, one givento
the Mayor in a sealed envelope~ and one given to the Clerk in a sealed
envelope, were opened and contained in words and figures as follows:

We~ the undersigned Inspectors and Clerk of the primary election
held on the 18th day of November~ A.D. 1957 for the purp~ose of
nominating candidates to be placed on the ballot for the election to
be held on the 2nd day of December~ A.D. 19~7~ do hereby certify that
at such primary election the total votes cast were ~$7 of which

It was moved by Mayor Purinton, and seconded by Clerk Benson that
the report of the Election Board be accepted as rea~ with all of the
Co~_missioners voting in the affirmative.
Thereupon the following names were authorized to be olaced on the
ballot for th~ election on the 2nd day of December, A.D. ~9~7:

R. L. Owen
Ralph D. Ross
W. T. (Sam) Woolbright
It was aut$orized by the Commission to refund by check all
discounts not taken by individuals mailing in tax payments,
Mayor Purinton read a letter of resignation of Mr, H, T, Mays
Deputy Clerk~ whereuoon he stated his wish to resign if he had not

followed the instructions of the Co~zmission in regar~ to ~ =
tax roll, The letter was tabled for further investigation,
It was brought out by Mr, Tsttersall that Mr, Allen King has.
requested the City to reimburse him in the amount of $17~,96 - which
is the difference between a check he oresented to ~ Peterson and
the cash credit given h~m on DT 217 dated August 31~ 19~5, Mr. Tattersatl
stated this ~o~nt is osrt of the settlement Mr. Peterson has promised
~o make to the City. It was sgreed by the Co~ission uha~ a check
be made out to Mr. King immediately.

for w~ter used on an emergency basis after the September hurricane and
that the Commission was returning by check the amoun~ sent.
At a meeting of the Zoning Board on October 30~ 19~7~ Messrs.
Paul Mercer~ Chairman~ Albert McGregor~ Vice Chairm~n~ C. O. Mii!er~
Fred Benson~ and W. T. Woo!bright were autno.~zed to act as a oermanent
Zoning Dommittee until January 1~ 19~84 The above board was aoproved
by the City Co~aission, and a letter was authorized to be w~itten to
Mr~ Mercer~ Chairman~ stating the City Co~mission gives the Zoning Board
authority to emoloy an attorney to assist in carrying out their work.
~fnereupon the meezing was declared recessed ~til November 20th
1947.
The City Commission reconvened at their special meeting begun on
November 19th: on this 20th day of November~ 1947 at which time the
following business took place,
The City Commission again took up the discussion regarding a letter
of resignation by Mr, May and refused to accept such leooer of resignation
Vhereuoon a motion was mnt~om~ced by Mayor °urinton to increase t~he
salary of Mr, H, T., May from $225, ocr month to $275, per mo_~tn, Such
motion was seconded by Mr, Benson and carried by the Commission,
Thereupon the meeting was declared adjourned by Mayor Purinton
