Minutes 05-24-48MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY CO~NCiL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, HELD IN THE CITY HALL, BOYNTON BE~CH~ FLORIDA, MAY 2~, TheCity Council convened at a Special Meeting at the City Hall~ 7:30 P.M., May 2~, 1958. Councilmen present were: Mr. B. V. Tattersa%!, Mr. Ralph Ross Mr. F. L. Purinton Mr. Clarence Benson Mr. W. T. Woolbright Mayor The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, who stated the purpose of the meeting was to adept a Resolution providing for the sale of delinquent taxes. The following Resolution was read by Mr. Wooibright: "RESOLUTION W~E. REAS~ there are certain unpaid taxes upon real estate owing to the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, and which have become delinquent; and WHEREAS~ the law requires a sale of such lands for such u~oaid and delinquent taxes; NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED~ by the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida~ that the Tax Collector of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida~ be~ and he hereby is, ordered and directed to make out a statement of all such real estat~e (uponwhich there are unpaid and delinquent taxes)~ Specifying the amount due on each parcel, including inter~st from April 1,' 19~8, to date of sale, at the rate of 18% per annum, together with the cost of advertising and expense of sale in the same order i~ which the lands were assessed, and to publish such list once a week for four consecutive weeks~ in the Boynton Beach News, a newspaper. BEIT FURTH~ERRESOL~D, that the notice of sale shall be substantially in the following form: 'NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the following described lands will be sold at public sale on the o~-~ day of July A.D. 19~8, at the City Hall~ in the City of Boynton Beach, County of Palm Beach, and State of Florida, to pay the amount due for taxesl herein set opposite to the same together with the cost of such sale and advertising costs: ~e~criotion of land -2- 01Frier Amount of Tax hold law. Tax Collector, City of Boynton Beach~ Florida.' 'BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED~ that such Tax Collector do such tax sale pursuant to such notice, and in accord with BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED, that upon the holdiHg of such to the City THIS RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2$th day of May, A.D. !9~8. B. V. TATTERSALL, Mayor" Motion was made by Mr. Woolbright, and seconded by Mr. Ross that the proceeding Resolution be adopted. Motion carried unaminously. Mr. Tattersall stated that Mr. Twedt, was selling his restaurant on the Federal Hwy, due to illness, that having a beer and wine licorice would aid greatly in the sale of the restaurant. Motion was made by Mr. Woolbright, seconded by Mr. Ross~ and unaminously carried~ that the unused portion of the beer and wine license issued to P. F. & Wm. K. Harouff (and which was never used)be transferred to Mr. Twedt. Mr. Charles Senior, Msnager of the Florida power LightCompanE~ presented t~e City with Franchise Revenue ckeck in the amount ~f $2~682.06. The City Clerk was authorized by vote of the Council to correct the 1957 tax roll to include the following prooerty omitted from the roll: Lots 21 to 25 ine!, Blk 63~ Beverly Hills, Add #2~ Tax $6.20 Lot 29, B!k 22, Lake-Boynton Estates, Harry J. Soil, owner ~TaX$o31 A letter was read from Mr. Robt W. Whelps, Chicago~ Ill., regarding-the renting of the Casino at the expiration of Lucille & Otley's use of same. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Phelps he would be advised when a decision has been reached regarding future rental of the casino. There being no further b~usiness, ~,~eeting adjouroned. B. V.
