The City Council convened at a regular meeting at City Hal!~ on October 4th, 1948', at 7:30 P.M. Councilmen present were: the Mr. B. V. Tattersall~ Mayor Mr. Ralph Ross Mr~ F. L. Purinton Mr~ W. T. Woolbright Mr. Clarence Benson read The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tattersal!. C. Meredith. A motion was made by Mr. Tattersall~ seconded by Mr. ~oss~ and un~minously carried~ that $50,000.00 of the Refund- lng Bond Issue of October lst~ 1956~ be redeemed~ at the rate of Sixty Cents on the Dollar. The Clerk was instructed to place a notice to this effect on the front do~r of the City Hall. A motion was made by Mr. Purinton~ seconded by Mr. Wool- bright~ hud carried~ that a letter be -written to the ~i~ie Pride Society stating that City owned property between Ocean Avenue and Dade Street~ and east of Green Street~ has been set aside for Park ourposes. Miss Winniefred F. Houghton~ Secy~ of Shangri-La-Col- chics: Inc.~ appeared before the meeting and requested the City to pave Curtis Street~ west of Green Street~ to their pronerty. Following discussion she was advised the City was no~ in ~ po~ sition to pave any streets~ but would do all it could to hel~; and that if the street was put in by the Shangri-La-Colonies~ the City would maintain same. Col. C. Robert Forbes appeared before the meeting to request the C.ity to do~ate a strip of l~nd ~00~ x 1500~running east and west~ to orov~de land for a privately owned a~ort to accomodate ~0 t~ ~0 planes. He was advised the City ~ould require moee information on this matter before any decision could be made. A motion was mad? by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. Purinton that the Budget for the f~scal year beginning November l~ i958 and ending October 31, 1959 be adopted. Mo~ion carried unamin- ously~ and the following Ordinance No. 206 was placed on first reading: Motion was made by Mr. Ross and §~conded by Mr. Wool- bright~ and unami~ously carried that the I~8 Tax Roll be acc~ted and a copy be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit C ~ our~ Palm Beach County~ Florida.
