The City Council convered at a Soecial Meeting at

The purpose of the meeting was to canvas the ballot of
the General Election of December ?th~ 1948. The reoort of the
Election Board was read as follows:

Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. Benson~
and unaminously carried that the Report of the Election Board
be acceoted as submitted.
Motion was made by Mr. Purinton~ seconded by Mr. Ross
and unaminously carried that $~000.00 be t~ansferred from the
General Fund to the Water F~ud for the payment of curv~nt bills.
A motion was made by'Mr. Ross~ seconded by M_r. Benson
that the International Dumo Truck~ 3 yd. capacity, loaned to
the City a£ter the 19~7 storm be returned to the Government,
Federal Works Agehcy~ Bureau of Community Facilities~ and
a letter of appreciation be sent them for the use of the truck
.during the emergency. Motion carried unaminously.
A request for Beer and Wine licence for oackage goods
only was received from Raymond Zompa~ of the Palmetto Na~ke~.,
Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. ~'oolbright~ and
carried that this license be issued to the Ealmetto Market.
