Minutes 07-12-49MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA~ HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THE 12th. RAY OF JULY, 1959 ,11 The City Council convened at a Special Mseting at the City Hall, July 12thl 1959, held by unanimous consent in conjuction with the Advertised Board of Equalization of Taxes MeEting. Presemt; Mr. F.L.Purinton Mr. Ralph Ross Nr. E.A.Shook Mr. W.T.Woolbright Mr. C.H.Hood Meeting was called to order by Mayor Purinton. Mr. Gotham, representing the Florida East Coast RailwayCompany, presented a letter from Mr. Bennett, Tax Agent, ~equesting a reduction of assessment fo~ the year 1949. The Board, after lenthy discussion came to ~the decision thet the Florida East Coast Railway tax valuation is not out of line, compared with other Cities and compared with our City Ealuations. Thereupon, Mr. C.H. Hood made the motion, seconded by Mr. Ralph Ross, and unanimously carried, that the City ~lerk write Mr. Bennett, informing him that the 1959 tax assessment will remain the same as returned to the City by the State Comptroller. After lenghty discussion of the needs for improve- ment of the Boynton Beach Memorial Park Cemetary, the motion was made by Mr. Woolbright, seconded byMr. Hood and unanimously carried that Mr. Shook be appointed to contact a Bulldoxer Contractor to level the Cometary. Motion was made by Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Hood, and unanimously carried that Mr. MiA.Weaver and Dr. N.M. Weems be appointed to the Board of Governors of"Boynton Beach Memorial Park" Cometary. They are to select a third member to serve with them, and select a Chairmam among themselves. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mrs. Cline~ that in the event she is thinking of giving up, or sub- leasing the Casino, written plans of her intentions must be submitted to the Council for approval. Motion was made by Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Wool- bright, and unanimously carried that $2,000 be transferred from the Water Fund to the General Fund as part paymeht of monies owed the General Fund.
