A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE
EFFORTS OF THE BOYNTON BEACH COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE
HOUSING FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME PEOPLE;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
FORWARD COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE
APPROPRIATE LEGISLATIVE AGENCIES; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Boynton Beach Community Development
Corporation, hereinafter referred to as "Boynton Beach CDC"
represents that it has become incorporated as a Florida Not
For Profit Corporation existing under Section 617 of the
Florida Statutes and Section 501 (C)(3) of the Federal
Internal Revenue Code of 1986; and
W~EREAS, the Boynton Beach CDC is committed to providing
decent~ safe, sanitary, and affordable housing to low and
moderate income people; and
WHEREAS, the Boynton Beach CDC desires to become an
eligible sponsor of the Florida Department of Community
Affairs' Community Contribution Tax Incentive Program (CCTIP);
and
WHEREAS, becoming recognized as an eligible sponsor of
CCTIP will allow the Boynton Beach CDC to receive vacant
property suitable for building and cash donations for
construction purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the
citizens and residents of the City of Boynton Beach to support
the efforts of the Boynton Beach CDC, and certifies that the
project is consistent with local plans an~ regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section i. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida supports the efforts of the Boynton Beach
Community Development Corporation to provide affordable
housing for low and moderate income people.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida certifies that the affordable housing currently
provided by the Boynton Beach CDC is in compliance with the
City's Comprehensive Plan, and is consistent with all local
plans and regulations.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this Resolution upon passage to the
appropriate agencies.
