R92-190RESOLUTION NO. R92-/~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF CiTY EI~PLOYEES IN RESPONDING TO THE NEEDS OF SOUTH FLORIDIANS IN THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE ANDREW, AND COMMENDING THEM FOR THESE EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS IN FLORIDA. WHEREAS, city employees have joined together to respond to the needs of other city employees and citizens in areas damaged by Hurricane Andrew in South Florida; and WHEREAS, many of these employees worked with the Florida League of Cities, Inc. Project COPE (Cities Outreach Programs Effort) to coordinate the relief assistance; and WHEREAS, these employees responded immediately and selflessly to these needs both on behalf of their cities and on their own initiative; and WHEREAS, city employees also organized and worked tirelessly with local citizen efforts to provide relief to hurricane victims, doing whatever was needed to make sure supplies and services arrived securely and timely; and WHEREAS~ these employees are dedicated public servants who have acted'out of a desire to give to their communities and others and will continue to do so. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CiTY OF ~OY~TON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, does hereby honor and commend the city employees who have acted to assist the victims of Hurricane Andrew. Section 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Florida League of Cities upon passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED this J~ day of October, 1992.
