R92-189RESOLUTION NO.~92-/~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF THE POSITION ASSUMED BY THE UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF MAYORS URGING THE BUREAU OF THE CENSUS TO ADOPT OPTION #1 WHICH INCORPORATES INFORMATION FROM THE POST-ENUMERATION SURVEY INTO THE INTERCENSAL POPULATION ESTIMATES AT ALL LEVELS OF GEOGRAPHY. WHEREAS, the United States Conference of Mayors has long advocated a statistical correction of the 1990 census figures to remedy the "differential undercount"; and WHEREAS, theUnited States Con£erence of Mayors believes that Consistency dictates that corrected numbers should be used for the purposes of both political representation and federal funding; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida hereby supports the position of the United States Conference of Mayors, which urges the adoption of Option~i, incorporating information from the post-enumeration survey into the intercensal population estimates at all levels of geography. NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does support the position assumed by the United States Conference of Mayors, urging adoption of Option ~1, incorporating information from the post-enumeration survey into the intercensal population estimates. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the United States Conference of Mayors and to the Director of the Bureau of the Census, Washington, D.C.
