Town of Boynton, Florida, was held at the Town Hall on Tuesday
evening, August 20,

The above constituting the entire Board of Town

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 8, lg$5 wer~
read, corrected and approved as corrected.
A discussion was ~_~d concerning restrictions placed on
certain subdm~isions by the developers as to whether or not the
Commission h~s the right to er~orce such restrictions. This
matter was referred to N~ Nev~man T. ~!ml~m~r, Att~.
The following petition?~as read:
"Honorable Board of Town Commissioners,
Town of Bo~rnton, Boynton, Florida.
P~e, the undersigned, citizens and residents of the Town of
Boyn~ton, Florida~ respectfully petition your Honorable Board to
enforce the provisions of Section 18, o£ 0rd~nance No. 18, of the
Town of Boynton, Florida, which provides, that, "~oever shall
open or keep open for business, any store or other place of
business on the Sabbath Day, except the sempe be p~rmitted under
the statutes of Florida, shall be punished as prescribed in the
preceding section." ~e further petition your Honorable Board to
adopt an 0rdir~nce regulating the sale of intoxicating liquors~
including wines and beers~ and prohibiting the sale thereof
between the hours of 12:00 P.M., Saturday and 12:00 P. ~. Sunday,
in accordance with House Bill No~ ~98~ as recently passed by the
Legislat~e of Florida~ and approved by the Governor.

Upon motion made by Commissioner~Menzel, seconded by
Commissione~ Bowen and unanimously carried, the above petition
was tabled.
The following letter was read and filed:

De~r Mr. Stevens:
A short time ago I discussed with you a proposition for
the construction of a town hall in Boynton, plans for which have
already been prepared. At the time you stated that local
organizations and the Town Council would take up t~ matter
immediately and that you would submit a report to me, setting forth
the total estimated cost ~ud the limit to which the Town, as
sponsor~ could go in the way of contributions.
I believe tb~t this is a highly desirable project
~ud one which would receive favorable consideration provided
you can work it into proper shape. I will be glad to help in
its prep~ation~ or cooperate in any way possible.
I trust that I may hear from you favorably within the
next few days or so t~t a ~, P. A. application may be prepared
and go through for approval without delay.

Upon motion made by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by
Commissioner Bowen and duly carried, the following REEOLL~ION
was passed and adoDted:
RESOLUTION
~%EREiS~ the Town is without avail~ole funds with which to
pay salaries and other operating expenses of the Town,
~HE~_F~S, It is deemed right, fair and just that the persons~
firms or corporations to which the Town of Boynton is indebted
should receive written evidence of the obligations due them
from said Town,.....
THEREFOREBE IT RESOLVED, TD~t the Mayor of said Town, and
the Clerk of said Town be and they are each hereby authorized, for
and on behalf of said Town, to make~ execute ar~ deliver to such
persons~ firms or corporations or any one of them desiring such
written evidence of such obligations, promissory notes at any time
and in su~n amounts as may be desired by them in a total sum not
to exceed the amounts due them
Commissioner Bowen moved the adoption of the following
R E S 0 L U T I 0 N.~
¥~REAS, the Town of Boynton, Florida, is the owner of Lots
i0 and 11, Block 5, Original Town of Boynton, and
5~EEEAS, R. 0. 5~yers has offered to rent a storeroom in the
extreme east end of the building located on said lots~ from the
Town from August 1st, 19~ to June ~0th~ 19~6 at $15.00 per month
?~EREAS~ the amount offered as rental by R. O. Myers is
deemed to be a fair offer ........
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Town Commissioners
of tb~ Town of Boynton~ Florida, that the said storeroom in the
extreme east end of the building located on Lots l0 and Il,
Block 5~ Original Town of Boynton~ be and the same b~reby is
rented to R, 0. Myers for the sum of $1§.00 per month for a term
begir~ing August l~ 19S5 and ending June 30, 19S6, ....
BE IT furTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Town Clerk cf
said Tov~be and they each are hereby authorized~ ordered and
directed to enter into a valid and binding agreement with the
said Ro 0. Myers for the rental of said storeroom as herein-
before stipulated.
Commissioner Stevens seconded the motion for the adoption
of the above and foregoir~ Resolution and upon being put to~a vote
was duly carried.
it was mutually agreed upon to employ Charles Ruth as
Foreman of tD~ Beautification Project at the Casino property;
~ro Ruth to be paid by the Town for such days work as are not paid
~m by the F. Eo R. A. and at the same rate of pay as he receives
from the Fo E. R~ A.
There beir~ no further business the meeting adjourned°
May or
