A Regul'ar Meeting of the BGard of Town Co~mnissioners of the Town of Boynton, Florida, was held at the Town Hall on T~esday evening, February 16, 1937, at 7:30 P. M. Present: H.D. Stevens, N. M. ~eems, J. P. Bowen· The above constituti~ the entire toners of the Town of Boynton, Florida. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of were read and approved. The following letter was read: Board of Town Commissioners, Town of Boynton, Boynton, FIa. Gentlemen:- MayO~, Vice-Mayor, Town Clerk. Board of Town Feb~uar~y 2, 1937 "February 16, 1937. I herewith tender my resignation as Mayor of the Town of Boynton, Florida· eFge~tive at once, subject to receiving my salary in full. H. D. Stevens. (Signed~" Upon motion made by Commissioner_ Bowen, seconded by Commiss- ioner Weems and unanimously carried, the resignation of Mayor H. D. Stevens was accepted and the Treasurer instructed to write a check in favor of H. D..Stevens for $512.39, being the amount due on account Mayor's sa!a~y to date. Thereupon the ex-Mayor, H. D. Etevens, relinquished the chair to Vice-Mayor Weens, now presiding during the vacancy of the Mayor ' s office. Upon motion m~de by Commissioner Bowen, seconded by Oommiss- ioner ~eems and duly carried the following Reso!~tlon was passed and ~do~t~edl~ WRESOLUTION: WHERE~_~, The Charter of the Town of Boynton provides that all public monie~ shall be disbursed only on check, to be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by at least one other member of the Commission; and, WHEREAS, Section 1 of Article ~ of said Charter provides that in the absence or disability to act of the Mayor, the Vice- Mayor shall perform all the duties of the office; and, V~HEREAS, Sh~ office of Mayor of the Town of Boynton is now vacant and it becomes necessary for the Vice-Mayor to act and perform the duties of the office of the Mayor of the Town of Boyn- t~n~ WHERF~S, N. M. Weems Vice-Mayor; and, is the duly elected, qualified and acting WHEREAS, J. P. Bowen is the duly elected, qualified and acting Town Clerk ...... NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that a true copy of this RESO- LUTION be sent to the West Palm Beach Atlantic National Bank of West Palm Beach, Florida and the Florida State Bank of Delray ~each, Florida, with the advice that this action is necessitated by the resignation of Nayor-H. Allen was grsnted permission to continue to occupy the town owned building just west of the F. E. Co Rwy on Ocean Avenue until the Commission is ready to move the building, at three dollars per month, in advance, beginning February 15, 1937.
